Martin Wrigley MP - A fraud and a saddo

Another BS filled post on our MP's Facebook page today.

Martin Wrigley MP

He 'came into politics with a desire to help people'? And 'make their lives better'? WTF?

Not according to his elderly neighbour, he has no desire to make her life better. In fact she says he's the worst neighbour she's ever had.

He's full of it. It's sickening, shameless self-promotion by a deluded arrogant fool who cares only for himself. What a charlatan.

He has had to develop a 'rather thick skin' because he has pissed so many people off all over the constituency. Look at the ruination of Queen St in Newton Abbot where traders have just cause to dislike him

He claims to have received an appreciative email. It looks like he's created it himself on MS Paint or Canva. I would've provided a screenshot of it and blanked out the person's name. Who actually believes it is genuine?

That he feels the need to post this confirms the fact he's not popular. It's sad and pathetic. He was elected MP with less than 32% of the vote and with a 65% turn out.

So he represents less than one third of the slightly less than 2 thirds who voted. Meaning he only represents just over 20% of adults living in the constituency. And we all know he's only a MP because of the impact of Reform on last year's general election

Wrigley blocked me from his Facebook page after I pointed out he was talking nonsense about a particular matter.  So much for him being thick skinned, I think he's just thick.

@burnside That's the Liberal Democrat modus operandi locally.

Rosie Dawson prevents free speech as former Chair of the district Council. Wrigley and his cabal ignores the needs and concerns of traders in Queen St Newton Abbot, market traders over changes to the indoor market, then there's the theatre campaign and local people concerned about the housing sprawl and loss of countryside containing SSSI. Wrigley and co ignored and condoned Cllr Taylor's physical violence and so on... The list is long. Wrigley simply takes notice and 'listens' to anyone who can help further his own agenda. He blocks criticism online in the same way he and his party silence opposition voices in local government.

Hie elderly neighbour has written numerous letters to him since 2022 simply requesting that he cut his trees  so she can enjoy her home and back yard, have sufficient natural light and not have to pay should their be storm damge from falling branches, etc. That's not an unreasonable thing to ask of a neighbour. Is it?

Yet he ignores her polite requests and shows no desire to address her concerns. He's not interested in her needs, her has no desire to remedy the situation, only doing the bare minimum to (I assume) keep in line with legislation that discriminates against the victim of anti-social neighbours, employing delay tactics and using the same tired old excuse that it is too late to doing anything once it is bird nesting season. And does he do anything once we're into late autumn and winter? Does he F!

And this is a man who on 3 Councils was supposed to follow a code of conduct based on the 7 Principles for Public Life and who now represents us as a MP. Isn't his neighbour one of his constituents? Doesn't he claim to be a 'People's Champion'? What about 'Love Thy Neighbour', respect for the elderly, respect for women and community spirit?

I agree with @burnside he is thick in one sense, he has no people skills and no emotional intelligence. he lacks compassion and reason. Good that he has a thick skin, he's riled so many people that he seems a recluse in his own village. What intellect he has is employed in maintaining the facade that is his public persona and manipulation. Hence why word play linked to his surname and the word 'wriggly' is increasingly found on on sites like this, social media and heard in conversation. If the cap fits, eh?

His shameless PR is vomit enducing and it angers me given I know how he's treated his elderly neighbour over the past couple of decades. The tree problem is just the latest issue with this petty, vindictive excuse for a public servant.

He's a sad case, his pathetic post is all because he craves attention and respect, yet maybe he ought to realize that by walking over so many, while simultaneously claiming to represent them rightly affords him none.

The main problem for the entire electorate as that he just doesn't get any of it. He's blind to it all. His warped judgement and perception of self mean he is ill suited to public office. And he'd be better off living somewhere where nobody has the misfortune of having him as their neighbour.
