This is the funniest thread of the year so far! Thanks Lynne! :-)
Judith Chalmers' Posts
You're missing the point completely! I'm not saying that it shouldn't be flown, just don't be surprised that some people associate the flag with racism because of the hijacking of it by the racists!
I think Flo's hit the nail on the head. Welcome back to the Swift clan - hope you all had a nice break away together.
Another question: What's the first sign of madness?
It's true! At long last, TDC are going to employ someone to remove unsightly seaweed from our beaches during the summer months. Focus will be on the Warren and Coryton Cove. For an application pack, contact Sarah Leech on 01626 779770. #recruitmentagentaswell
Haha! How estate-agentist of you! x
This erm, bijou pied-à-terre, was last on the market a couple of years ago I think. For a £1million less than it's currently on the market for! Property inflation eh?

That's something we agree on Elvis. Godammed Americanisms...!
Oh dear, Margaret doesn't get irony! She's far too important for that!
Totally agree. In recent years, cygnets have been put into the pen for the own protection - with mum and/or dad nearby. I'm sure that once the swans begin to breed (in a couple of Springs time?) then the warden will do everything he can to look after them.
it must have been the Christmas Market on the Strand that I saw advertised.
And that, dear Burneside, says far more about you than it does it about me. Dont forget to get your family to press Agree...
Whilst I'm sure that "willsmith" is on the wind up, just for the record though the Exe Trail is a shared user route. I.e. for cyclists and pedestrians alike.
Thanks for your, ahem, "constructive" comment Old Fart... It brought a smile to my face when I saw that you didn't answer mine and Lynne's question on the migration thread.
No Old Fart, I've merely asked for clarification on a point you raised followed by a sensible question to you - on a thread that I started. If you're unable or unwilling to answer the request and/or question, then just say so, instead of turning the thread into a personal attack on me. Ironically, Lynne raised a similar question to mine...
Hopefully you'll be pleased to learn that the off-season free parking on a Sunday has started again in Dawlish. Please remember that this applies to TDC car parks only - and therefore not to on-street parking.
Old Fart, if you're suggesting that I'm in any way envious of Melvyn, think again. I'm merely trying to work out why he's so bitter? Though maybe on reflection I'm doing him an injustice and it's the paper that's turned it into an anti-BBC rant. So, what next? Calls for the return of Love Thy Neighbour? Or Mind Your Language?
Old Fart, I've never seen the film. I hope though that it's not this quote I found: " You're the only woman for me. You and Janet Jackson. " :-)
Neighbourhood Plan for Dawlish - 26.09.14 Dawlish Town Council has decided to continue to formulate a Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with Plan Teignbridge. Much work has been done in the past and the new Plan is to look at infrastructure and community projects on which the new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) monies can be spent in the Parish. This does not include land, housing or ...
User4549 - that's disgusting. I hope the perpetrators are found and dealt with (by the police, not by baseball bat wielding vigilantes). Then named and shamed.
Never assume. It makes an ass out of u and me.
Foxy, so are you saying that you're the author of Munguins Republic blog? Written by you in Scotland? If so, welcome to Dawlish. If not, Foxy, you're a plagiarist. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
That's very harsh, I'm not a know-it-all... If I was, I think the shame of it would make me want to jump off a cliffe...
I know it was a late night, but way to miss the point Maggie. Look back to your post on 20 June at 13:13, and think about why you typed "Councillor Vickery" rather than "Bob". Why do you have a problem with anonymity though? Are you saying that the 99% of users of this website who are anonymous are "hiding"? And how does changing my username to, for example, Judith Chalmers, make me any less ...
Clive, she's passed away.
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but I've just read that the purchaser of Shell Cove House was PegasusLife, who specialise in developing aspirational retirement homes. Some detail here: http://www.pegasuslife.co.uk/portfolio/dawlish-devon/
But it's in the public domain!
The seawall (that's the path, Clive) has re-opened between the Rockstone Bridge all the way to the Warren. This is really great news for those of us who have sorely missed this walk.
I'm not sure why the media are talking about UKIP so much, it's not as if they "won" the elections. Labour won more seats than Tories, LibDems, UKIP and Greens combined. They're a single issue party that have utterly failed to connect in a positive way except amongst the old aged bigots and the unintelligent chavs. I'm sure they'll have done well in the Euro elections (oh the hypocrisy!), but ...
I can absolutely assure you that you don't need 2 hours to get through Check-in and Security. :-) And looking at their website, there are plenty of international destinations. :-)
My best wishes to you also that your greyhound makes a full and speedy (no pun intended) recovery. Beautiful animals.
Pleased to see that the preparatory work has commenced ahead of the desilting that's going to happen upstream from Dawlish. We've already seen the benefit of the initial phase, so hopefully this next phase (and subsequent phases in the town sections) will nail this on the head. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to see today just how clear the water was coming through the town. The water ...
Maps are only useful to those that have the ability to read.
I wonder if Chris Woodward had his bunting out today??!!
Are you suggesting a car race through Devon??
Shhhh Roberta. You'll spoil FredBassetts tea with such positivity!
It's been confirmed! I've waited and I've seen!
