Saw this wonderful article on BBC website.

Loved the independent article - very very tongue in cheek

Anniversary of the storm is tomorrow, the 5th, so imagine there will be a media presence in the town tomorrow. Lots of publicity (again). Cloud. Silver. Lining.

Gather the following is taken place tomorrow - anyone know of anything else?

Jack Sprats is doing a special menu and collecting for the RNLI, Open Daw is making ginger bread orange army men and the Strand Café is also doing a special menu.

The following information is from the Town Centre Manager

" Dartmoor Brewery will at the station at 3pm to give the money raised from the promotional real ale to the Snooky Trust and Teign Assist.

There will be some GWR representatives arriving around 2pm as well as possible some orange army people.

Friends of Dawlish Station will be decorating the station in the morning and will be around in the afternoon as well. "

That's all fantastic news - I'm pleased that I'm not the only one to have thought the anniversary worthy of commemorating. Hopefully there'll be great support for all of these events.
