This site has turned into a political forum. I thought it was a forum about Dawlish. It is boring and repetetive.
It is closed because their generater broke, and despite paying a lot for a local business to repair it, it remains broken. The owners are losing a lot of money as you can imagine. There are also problems with leaking water. This is dangerous around electrics. Lets hope they can get it fixed. A lot of people miss the cafe.
How judgemental total generalisation. Have you ever been toTotnes?
Sorry to see any business closing down.
It is lovely in there they have done a great job there are 9 tables, so not that small. The coffee is wonderful and the food divine, don't judge till you have tried it. Good luck to them nice to .encourage new businesses
What a knee jerk reaction. There are laws in place on the lawn regarding dogs on leads. Just enforce it. Lots of holiday makers have picnics on the lawn with their dogs on leads. Banning dogs would not have stopped the killing of the swan. Those people flout the laws openly, but no one enforces it. This would put me off as a tourist if I couldn't walk my dog sensibly on the Lawn. There are few ...
What do you mean by pansy? Trump is a moron.
Tourists leave more mess and litter on beaches than dogs. All the dog walkers I know pickup after their animals. I've seen people letting their kids pee on the beach. Give me dogs anyday.
There is a loIvely clothes shop on the strand. Seventeen.
At this rate there will be nowhere to take dogs. I regularly walk in Manor park and have never seen dog poo.
Why is Coryton Cove covered in sanitary waste? It is disgusting..
What happened to the money for the new bandstand?
Oh I know let TDC stop Cafe 1 from opening at 830 am. An enterprising youn coiple open a business, and offer something no other cafe does. Early opening. No wonder people are loathe to open new businesses. They can open 9am to 10pm. What's the problem?
I would like to point out. 348 patients didn't turn up for their appointments in August.
If you want to attract more visitors to Dawlish have some seating along the sea wall. It's appalling not to have any. And we can't compete with Teignmouth it is a completely different town, with a long promenade, a pier the Pavilions, I could go on. Concentrate on what we have.
It strikes me Devon and cornwall police are just lazy, they don't want the paperwork. My niece works for the Met and she is astounded at the lack o.f arrests for various offences here. She said any pub in London that had a pub like the Landsdowne would have it's licence revoked or curtailed. I find it odd that no matter how many complaints there are to the council licensing people they do ...
Every CEO gets too much look at Phillip Green And people do hand down clothes, if you're lucky enough to know anyone with children. All CEOs are overpaid look at Phillip Green the point is the charity gets money. Life isn't fair I learnt that at an early age.
I know someone who contacted her. Her reply was the responsibility of the lawn and who is on it is TDC. I am sorry I cannot be of much more assistance. I have personally voiced my own opinion at a recent meeting. And my main priority is tourism and getting visitors into the town and I agreed with others that it's not a look we wish to encourage, we might know that they are there as a deterrant but ...
Exactly, but they won't. It's all about the oil.
So pleased to have a cafe back that overlooksthe sea. I wish them all the luck in the world.
All true.
I thoght everyone was aware that play parks attract teens in the evening. Who will no doubt vandalise it. Somewhere else for the druggies and alcoholics to gather.
With respect we have excessive noise drunkeness and general loud bad behaviour at the Landsdowne every Friday and Saturday nights. The licensing people seem to think this is Ok. Despite numerous complaints it still goes on.
How do the Landsdowne get away with it. Last night, shouting screaming, foul language until 4am.
I thought someone got stabbed on the strand the other night. Loads of teenagers on the lawns. Doesn't seem to be under control to me.
Vote Tory and say goodbye to the NHS. They have already sold off bits to the likes of Richard Branson. They are under funded staff are underpaid, overworked unless you are a manager on ahuge salary.
Citizens advice at the Manor House in conjunction with Dawlish assist has a food bank. Not a big one but people are assessed and if it is deemed they are in need they get free food.
Well there have been stabbings and people being glassed in Dawlish. Another 20 stronggroup of people fighting outside The Landsdowne last week. Still they have a late lcence and continue to serve drunks, so no wonder there are problems. If that pub were in Exeter it would have lost its licence by now. Ihave that on good authority.
It appears he is bullet proof. Linda and John have had no response to their complaint. He appeared to disappear, and is now on holiday. As chairman of TDC I thought he needed to be contactable, but before his holiday no one seemed to know where he was. Very strange.
I am very sad to hear that.
I am amazed that anyone voted for him. I will say no more.
Not all disabilities are visible. Lung disease, heart disease, diverticulitis to name but a few. Don't be so quick to judge.
How come the drunks and druggies arestill inhabiting the shelters on the lawn. I have had verbal abuse for no reason. Also the other day They were shoplifting in Costcutters, One of the girls had to ask them to leave, I worry about females having to deal with them with no back up. Every time we are told it is under control back they come. Not a great advert for Dawlish.
You sir are an arse. They are not travellers nor Romanys. It took the council long enough to clear them out of a beautiful spot which they turned into a slum. Drug taking was rife. But all that was ignored. Who was paying for taxis to take their kids to school? I am no right wing tory, but it annoys me I can't even put a shed up in my garden without council interfernce. As for them paying council ...
. Apparantly Geordies have moved into the drug trade in Dawlish.
Appalling, no affordable housing, which is what Dawlish needs.
