As there was nothing about this in today's Gazette, and as I have now had this confirmed by the (ex)councillors concerned, I am putting this information into the public domain.
There has been talk on this forum over the years about the unfortunate tendency of some to resort to name calling.
Sadly it would appear that this tendency is also to be found elsewhere within the town.
And yes I know I'm being cryptic.
How could the expression "Janus illigitimus" translate into anglo saxon?
Not having anything to do with the council I have no idea of the backstory to all of this.
However, I gather that a Conservative councillor referred to John and Linda in not very nice terms (my dog latin of Janus illigitimus is about as near as I can get to describing what was said about them without my using anglo saxon terminology which some might find offensive.)
And on a not unrelated matter, I understand that another Conservative councillor at the last council meeting accused one of the other independent councillors of being a liar. This was said in full earshot of those in the public gallery.
So only 3 remaining Independent Councillors now then.
Doesn't the Town Council have a code of conduct? Aren't members of the public informed that they need to conduct themselves with decorum if attending meetings?
Smacks of hypocrisy.

thanks @Lynne, interesting reading. i wonder how the code of conduct for councillors differs?
Seems some don't practice what they preach to others.
These 2 points stand out;

I'm no pancake expert but I know tossers when I see them. So who will become the Mayor of Dawlish, I don't give a toss but it usually ends in a toss up as to who will get the job.
