@leatash - the first past the post electoral system we have in this country is far from being democratic. if, as is the case, we have forms of pr in other elections in other parts of the uk i fail to see why we can't have the same for our general elections. Take this constituency. Unless you are a Tory voter your vote is too all intents wasted. How on earth is that democratic?

and what about the trade negotiations that will allegedly take place after Brexit. Wonder what and whose priorities, arch negotiator and deal winner, Donald "America First" Trump will have in mind?

It is election time. Of course, he is not supporting her re-election. (and where is the "well displayed disgust"?) Please give me an example of a Tory supporting a Lib Dem in election time. And actually isn't that photo an example of his doing that very thing you are saying he should do? ie working with her  to try and solve a problem.

Jeez! The point I was trying to make is that the cost of living is increasing and that it is those with low fixed incomes (those only in receipt of state pensions for example) who feel the brunt the most.

According to the local newspaper Linda and John Petherick have reported the reason leading to their resignations to the appropriate officer at Teignbridge District Council..

So.....subsidised (ie paid for by taxpayers) bus fare monies help create the profits of private sector bus companies? What happens to the profits? Bit like subsidised (ie paid for by taxpayers) housing benefit monies going straight to private sector landlords?

But the people of Dawlish spoke -  and they wanted it saved. And we all know that the will of the people must be obeyed..........

With regard to protecting wildlife and the like, this does make me wonder what legal environmental protections may go out of the window in 2+ years time when the UK is in a position to jettison any EU environmental protection directives.

So we await to see then just how much more does get spent on the NHS in two years time. In the meantime how do we start sorting out the NHS now?

So how would the council know if the bins are full unless someone tells them? I guess that if they were to send council employees out and about to check the bins the council could  then be accused of wasting council tax payers' money.

We have an increasingly ageing population. And I am one of those adding to it. So I may have (after all, who knows what the future holds?) a vested interest as to how the present crisis in adult social care might be resolved. And I saw a tv picture showing the crowd yesterday holding a minutes silence of respect. Many took small bunches of flowers to place at the makeshift memorial opposite parliament.
