@Brian The reply I have had from Teignbridge is that they want to move ahead with a cafe at Coryton and are still trying to resolve access and funding issues.  I can't say that there is an absolute guarantee in the response that insurance monies are ring fenced, which I can only assume is care not to box themselves in should the cost of building a decent cafe and resolving the access problems ...

I wish it were true that Teignbridge were busy formulating plans for a new Bandstand. Absolutely no detailed planning had been done for a new bandstand.  More of an aspiration than a plan. Just to reassure anyone who is worried People benefiting from locally funded travel concessions will also be required to pay Local Council Tax and there are a mass of regulations that restrict the ability of immigrants to access any reduction in their council tax.  If you work as a volunteer for the CAB you learn just how restrictive the system is.

Im not not technically adept enough to say whether what you suggest is physically feasible - I leave that to others.  What I do know is that Natural England played merry hell with suggestions of a small play park in front of the Boathouse, so there would be "issues" over a bandstand.  It's all to do with a special form of grass ( I kid you not ) that is legally protected. Not being funny, but I don't know anything about the marriage arrangements.  All I can say is that the existing vehicle needed a lot of work doing to bring it up to standard , and that is what the grant was for.

@Mcjrpc Teignbridge said that there were key documentation deadlines for the Carlton Theatre project in Teignmouth.  These fell during the time period for bidding to CCF and they could not take officers off this project to write a bid for Dawlish.
