Great to have more information on whats going on More please! Let's try and help get the cash registers singing, especially at Dawlish venues. Good also to know about events within reasonable travelling distance, like Exeter and Newton, all adds to the quality of life here in Dawlish.
@flo I'm no expert but surely it must have helped at the start of January when the Brook was particularly high ........
YOUR THEATRE NEEDS YOU! “Oh! What A Lovely War” The play to commemorate the start of World War 1 on 4th August in 1914 will run from Monday 4th August, 2014 to Saturday 9th August, 2014 and will support other Dawlish town events held during the year. The Dawlish Repertory Company would welcome anyone who would like to become involved in this iconic production, and would be delighted to ...
Just to pass on, Presents of Dawlish are advertising on Facebook that you can collect a voucher from the shop that allows £3 discount each time you spend £10 on Thorntons Chocolates in their store The voucher lasts until 30 March so that covers Valentines and Mothers Days, and you can use it as often as you like.
@OF I have seen this news on another local site, and given information to the eye witness about who they should contact at Teignbridge to report this I think that is the appropriate first step, I think it is then up to Teignbridge as the landowner to contact the police if they think it necessary
Hesitant to speak about someone else's opinion but, when I went to see her I was told she felt it an unnecessary change because of Civil Partnerships and might cause offence to others who felt marriage should be between different genders, i realise this may now cause some people to write and express agreement / disagreement with that, and potentially lead to another rolling argument between ...
@Daverc happy to get answers to any questions you have. If you want to post them on here, I will reply in kind. BTW agree the TC website could be better, some councillors are looking at it, genuinely sorry that it's not better. Michael Clayson town councillor
Possibly, but the wrong end of the estate and not "hundreds" - but surely a genuine misunderstanding.
This was recently distributed around the parish in the Dawlish Post For anyone who didn't get to see it, please cut and paste the link below www.dawlish.gov.uk/edit/uploads/1179.pdf
@Mcjrpc I will most certainly be keeping everyone up to date on what happens. I've deliberately avoided giving a running commentary on the ideas posted here as I don't think that helps. I'd much rather read other people's ideas. As for the TCM, yes still very much in place. If you want to email me on mclay1990@gmail.com I'd be happy to pass on any messages.
I've checked with Emma Kay, and all the events are going to be on the Lawn and centred around the Bandstand. The Red Rock team will be there to organise fun activities for the younger people
Following recent questions on Eyes of Dawlish, I have made enquiries about the situation with regard to taxi bays proposed for outside Cafe No1 /Albert Street The change to the original plan is being proposed by Teignbridge, who wish to see two designated spaces for taxis at this location. The District Council will be advertising this proposal in the normal way, with the opportunity for anyone ...
@Brazilnut . to answer your question about why not use cheaper materials and continue the work around the viaduct and tuck's plot. it just would not work out financially. The money saved by using cheaper materials would not pay for a further period of construction work around such a large area. I do understand the worries about cleaning the new Strand, and the answer lies in making sure ...
Just to pass on information received in case anyone is concerned There has been damage to a weir in the Brook. Teignbridge will be attending to this The duty warden is satisfied that there is no danger to the waterfowl
@Huw Happy to do what I can to help, although as an individual Town Councillor this usually comes down to power of persuasion, might be quickest if you email me on mclay1990@gmail.com
