Sorry DawlishBlue, but the person collecting money still has to go round collecting it regardless of how many people pay by card - some still pay by cash so the machine has to be emptied. It is a convenient way to pay if you need it, we've all left the house sometimes without enough change to park - it's pigging annoying, you've got too choose then, risk a ticket or search for somewhere to park ...
When 70% of people living in Dawlish already do their weekly shop at Tescos or Sainsburys is having the supermarkets closer going to make that much difference? The Co-op is ok for top-up shopping but not much else, I'd struggle to buy a full shop at the Dawlish one and as they seem to have trawled the area to staff the Teignmouth one with the most ignorant, rude people around I don't go there ...
Thank you Vanguard - Mr Vickery for taking the time to reply. I apologise for not responding to you sooner, life and family have a habit of taking over at times! I responded to Mr Clayson before I saw this and I hope you read my reply to him too. I've read your response and I agree with some of what you have said, not all, but enough to feel there is some common ground. This is obviously too ...
@Smokey . i would so have loved to see his face.........
Thank you Mr Clayson for taking the time to reply, eventually. My turn - I hoped to start a debate possibly involving several members of this forum, I hoped for some genuine feedback, I had genuine questions that I would have liked answered. Maybe my style of posting is too flippant and that didn't really come over - but that's my style and I'm sticking to it! One of the beauties of internet ...
YOO HOO! Voices For Dawlish! Anyone home..........? The lack of interest is shameful, I wanted a sensible discussion, I wasn't out to rip shreads out of them or score points. Sad Good job my ballot paper won't be spoilt if I only vote for 1 or 2 candidates 'cos I certainly don't want to use them all!
Perhaps they are leafleting but I know at least one of them is a member here and others are in contact with them. I'm just saddened that no-one will take the time to answer what I feel are quite reasonable questions. It may just affect how I vote next week which would be a shame because I was swaying towards them.
No replies.....how disappointing IVFD. I suppose you're all enjoying the sun........
Genuine questions which I hope one of them will answer. I have their leaflet beside me, it tells me who is standing and a bit about them, there is space taken to tell us all how terrible the current council is but not much info on how they aim to improve Dawlish. What I'd particularly like is some claification of the statements made - "Greater promotion of Dawlish Warren as a tourism venue" - ...
Weather lovely at the moment, hope you enjoy your stay. If people feel strongly about the seagulls then it should be taken back to councils to look at the issue. New councils soon who may have different ideas regarding signage, by-laws and fines etc.
