South West Water has completed a number of major works in Dawlish as part of a multi-million pound investment to improve water quality by reducing the use of storm overflows in the area. Two new storm storage tanks have now been installed at The Lawn and Sandy Lane which can hold up to 2.2 million litres of stormwater each.

A FORMER seamstress who worked for a Royal dressmaker has had a trip down memory lane. Sheila Thomas, from Dawlish, once worked for fashion designer Sir Norman Hartnell, famous for his work making clothes for women in the Royal family.
COASTGUARDS in Dawlish are reminding boat owners to make sure their vessels are in good order. The advice follows an incident involving a boat which ran aground at Dawlish Warren. Dawlish coastguard volunteers were alerted and on arrival at the Warren, made sure the crew on board were safe and other water users were clear of the area.

RESIDENTS campaigning to save a neglected historic building in Dawlish have given their backing to new plans for the site. New owners of the decaying former vicarage in Weech Road have put forward plans to turn the derelict Grade II listed building into a group of homes.

FIREFIGHTERS from Dawlish were alerted to a call from a member of the public reporting smoke coming from their boiler. The smoke had set off the property’s fire alarms. Crews from Dawlish and Teignmouth attended the scene where they found the occupant had already turned off the electric supply to the boiler before they arrived.
"Police have been informed over incident " yes, expect a few flying squad cars and a response like "We will monitor the situation ". Town council should be more interested in the carnage on exeter road.

Complete and utter s##tshow, diversion signs are non existent, back roads blocked by vehicles in single track roads. Dawlish is dying on its arse and now its impossible to visit. No reason why lights couldn't have been put up . Been by on foot and only one side of the road is dug up. It's about time the council got off their arses and sorted this mess out. PART of Dawlish sea wall damaged by recent storms is expected to reopen on Sunday. Engineers working on repairs say the stretchalong the old sea wall between Dawlish (Coastguards breakwater) and Rockstone footbridge is due to reopen from approximately 10am on Sunday, April 12.
