Sorry, it should have read 'Warm Front' in my first post. I am not sure the tax payer is not footing this bill. From what I have googled the reasoning is that Landlords have no incentive to be energy efficient and spend money on improving properties for tenants. Well it should become law then like it is for other businesses. Or the tenant should be able to claim back from the landlord money ...
Just reading a bit more of it: "To be eligible you must own your home or rent it from a private landlord." So I guess the scheme doesn't apply to squatters. Wtf? Looks like it is true then so it is another total disgraceful abuse and waste of tax payers money. No wonder everyone I know is a friggin landlord or wannabe landlord.
I was speaking to someone in Dawlish today who was explaining to me how the Warm Start scheme (aka scam) works. Now, does anyone know if this is correct? This is the scheme: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/On_a_low_income/DG_10018661?CID=MTB&PLA=warmfront&CRE=lowincome Basically, she was furious that a person she knows who is a tenant on housing ...
and the 'least interesting and most pointless post of the week' award goes to ... @wuzla55. Congratulations!
Given that the police use antisocial behaviour laws to arrest law abiding citizens exercising their ever diminishing rights, I would have thought that they can move them on or threaten them with arrest for antisocial behaviour. To me, antisocial behaviour should refer to behaviour that most people find antisocial and drinking whilst already drunk, defecating and urinating in a public shelter is ...
I have never been a fan of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook but now I am beginning to see how useful they can be. ING customers mobilised on Twitter and other social networks protested at bonuses paid to bosses and threatened a run on the bank. The bankers had no choice but to give up their bonuses. ...
I probably misheard then. There has been talk about it on here and I was wondering if anything had been earmarked as part of the planning. Not interested in buying myself. I am interested in schemes that are in place to waste or abuse tax payers money. For example, the First Time Buyers scheme is a complete abuse of tax payers money in that the sole purpose is to try to prop up a deflating and ...
Does anyone know anything about the affordable hosuing that is going to be built along with the new Sainsburys? Eg. the number of affordable homes and in particular how they will be affordable?
Is there really nothing we can do about the Hester pig and his piglets? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/323-rbs-staff-receive-average-12m-pay-2244867.html Why can't we have a banking system in the UK whereby a person puts their money into a deposit or savings account and it stays there until it is withdrawn or transferred by that person? In the mean time some of the money is ...
Willo, I would highly recommend submitting a retrospective planning application. This at least shows you acknowledge you are in breach of planning rules, or whatever, and are willing to cooperate to solve the matter. It is always pointless taking on bureaucracy and red tape to prove a point (not saying you are) as it is often not one person who is to blame but rather the system that is at fault. ...
