I believe in free speech but some of the rubbish that is being posted on here from 2posters is getting beyond a joke now, it makes the forum look childish
I agree Brazilnut. I take a look odd times as I've moved away just to see whats going on, the forum seems to have lost credability and wonder if it does Dawlish any favours at all.
I never had a problem with Dallas, but must admit I was about to leave the site because of the inferences from Rainbow1 everytime I posted something, so thank you, I hope this person stops and thinks before they speak. I also am getting a bit fed up of the text talk, there is No need for it, they are just pretending to be daft, and it gets slightly draining. If they can talk text speech, they can talk their first language... That doesn't give a good impression either. Thank You for taking control Webmaster.
I could probably find plenty of reasons to agree with the previous posters and the webmaster, but I don't. I do not like some of the posts, now or in the past, but none of them upsets me enought to want to see people banned.
Well maybe You haven't been targetted then. I think a certain person is just trying to stir things up here and actually They Do - the person who pretends they can't speak English, which is rubbish

Have a suspicion that Tracy will be proved right but.........if they then post in more or less exactly the same manner they will give themselves away, won't they?
And whilst I hear loud and clear what Don P is saying and understand why he is saying it, I also understand totally where Cosey is coming from.
Weren't both Rainbow1 and Dallas previously been warned by the webmaster about the nature of their posts and the consequences to them both if they continued?
And many (all?) discussion sites have a moderator of some kind just to keep a control on things. Which means that things do get deleted.
There's freedom of speech and then there's abuse of freedom of speech.
Here's the link that should take you to the terms and conditions for posting on this website. Do I think that Rainbow1 quite often broke some of them? Yes.
I think that it all this is a far cry from many of the abusive and potentially libellous posts which used to fill the Backyard. However, I cannot understand why people seem unable to treat one another with respect on the forum. I try not to write anything that I would not say face to face with the person I am addressing.
I understand your position re Rainbow1 after her posts attacking you. I have been attacked from time to time and my immediate reaction has sometimes been to respond in kind. I make a point of not responding at all.
My personal view, as someone who reads almost all posts, is that many of Dallas' posts have been designed to wind up Rainbow1. Rainbow1's posts to Cosey seemed to be based on a genuine belief that they were the same person.
However, Dallas did apologise, to his great credit.
Yes Don and I am Not Dallas, so I take offence to be accused of being someone else, just because I may agree with them. Then I am trolled and targetted and told to make posts about Dawlish. My opinion is Rainbows posts have been made to wind up Dallas, and Dallas was the better person for apologising. Webmaster, you know me and Dallas are Not the same person, please make it known here......
I think Rainbow1's posts were made to wind up certain individual people (me included) but s/he has inadvertently managed to wind up many more posters and readers and as well as those 'graced' with being targeted.

I think you'll find that one is back already and has posted on this thread. Yes Rainbow was a total pain in the arse, but then Dallas(whatever your calling yourself today) spent all day long following every post he/she made , with a pointless post abusing him/her. I've had my fall outs with a number of people on here in the past, due to disagreeing with them, but then on the next thread agreed with them. When numerous names continually pick on the same poster, on every post they make , you tend to find its either the same person or family.
As weve seen in the past, many posters have been driven off here.Probably by the same few multi named posters.Yes they tried the same with me. Difference is a dont give a dam. Its them that waste all day long on here trying to provoke others, which is a pretty sad life to live.
Lynne , i find it strange that you only seem to be having a go at Rainbow1 , as far as i remember he/she took issue with the number of threads you were starting about housing, thats the only time i remember him/her having a go at you. But then a number of us agreed with Rainbow 1, you had hijacked this forum with continous moaning about housing, which had got to the stage where you had put a planning permision on here about a single house being converted or knocked down to make 2 properties.
Rainbow1 and Dallas(dullish or whatever name hes using today, see above) were both a pain in the arse. Yet you only had a problem with one poster

I had a problem with them both but in different ways. Dallas because of the language used by him/her in some of the threads (I won't call them discussions) going on between Dallas and Rainbow1 and with Rainbow1 because of the attitude of the some of the postings made by Raibnbow not only towards myself but towards others who post on here.
Oh and the reason I put that info on about the planning application concerning the house in Exeter Road is that I remembered it having been mentioned as an eyesore by another poster some time previously. It was put on as a matter of information.
The number of posts about housing was me trying to bring to people's attention what was/is being planned for Dawlish for the next 20 years or so and more to the point trying to bring to people's attention that we all had/have a say in the matter. My concern then, and to a lesser extent now, is that people should know about the draft plan and have their say whatever that might be. The point being that they can't have a say if they don't know that 1. they are entitled to do so and 2. what it is that is that they can have a say about.
And as I recall we had some interesting discussions with some new posters taking part.
j warrener for the last time i am not dallas. @webmaster, please can you confirm this, just because i give my point of view and do not appreciate the insinuations from rainbow1, does not mean i am dallas.

At first glance there is no connection between Cosey and Dallas, so I'd say it is unlikely they were the same people.
However, you must remember it is impossible to be completely sure. All you can say is that the IP addresses of the computers were not the same.
I understand that Webmaster, But I am Not Dallas, who cares if I am in a way, But I am Not. I am just someone who expresses myself quite strongly, doesn't put up with rubbish, and doesn't appreciate innuendos... Thats me and I Love Dawlish. Have Lived here practically all my life, my family are Dawlish born and bred, and I should Not have to justify myself because I have strong opinions.

I was just explaining to everyone that it is not possible to verify users completely. All websites are faced with the same situation.
You have done nothing wrong on here so there is no need to explain yourself. People also have the right to post on here even if they hate Dawlish. Rainbow1 and Dallas broke the forum terms even after I asked them to stop. Also, other users were complaining about them, hence the action I took.
Lets not start picking on Cosey. As I have pointed out he/she has done nothing wrong. I think we should move on now otherwise I can see new users being accused of being Dallas or Rainbow1, putting people off joining this site.
I was accused of being other people within a day of my first ever posting and it has happened several times since. I wrote a satirical piece about Roy and was accused of writing it to disguise the fact that I was Roy. I understand your annoyance and, as Webmaster says, you have done nothing wrong.

Me too Steve J,, But thanks Webmaster for tryiing to sort this out, I certainly don't want this site taken over by squabbles, far from it. @Don, yeah I will, just slightly frustrating at times, but, cripes so much more important in life isn't there.

J Warrener it seems to me you are as bad as them, you are accusing people without proper facts, now Jools and Yes you accused me, perhaps you should stop and realise, other people Do have opinions, and just because they state them does not mean they are those people. How would you feel?
