I am pleased I have left! ..see no future for D.

Only the UK could 'celebrate' an event that failed ..any excuse. Waste of money...but then people have plenty, thanks to a Tory government. (that should wake Roberta up loll)
..well if you will take the lock off your front door I will too lol
What they should have done.. just put a few items to sell in the shop, anything, to keep it as retail and a notice in the window call in here if you want a taxi. Simple.
Always thought a good ferry in high season going Exmouth - Dawlish - Torquay would do well..bring people to the town and offer a service to and from Exmouth/Torquay...
Labour party is history thank goodness.. people are more educated in 2015 than in the dark ages of the 1970s. The people decided...
Agree. Cant believe they all sit on the beach glued to their phone....sad or what!! ..nobody talks to each other anymore on trains and anywhere you go.
So are you saying a family with say 10 kids should receive benefits even if they have a high income?. A woman on the radio was saying she is planning on having a child every year and that way she will never need to work...she has 7 so far, shes better off with all the various benefits and let everyone work to pay for her family is her view. Guess people dont mind paying out of their wages for the ...
How nuch is a train driver getting? I heard £30,000 - 50,000 pa for experienced.
According to this UKIP would have had 82 seats Labour 199 and Conservative 242 if PR Sshhh Labour... thats even less than now with PR lol Will they have Liz whatshername as a Leader? http://i100.independent.co.uk/article/heres-how-the-election-results-would-look-under-a-proportional-voting-system--gJenQmaW2gW
Well she has given Labour a chance to drum up a few votes by being away...she's not seen as being desperate.
I think if Ed does not end up as PM..they will dump him and Tony Blair will be back!
Have seen children in a buggy with a smartphone in hand...if parents did not give them internet access (or have so much money to buy one lol) would be no risk. Parents are totally to blame. People all walking around now with a phone in hand just like a sat nav lol. One day people may look back and think how sad was that!
As I have said so many times...as people seem to be unable to be pleasant to each other .. I would remove the discussion page here and leave all the 'bickering' to Facebook.
I'm always in Dawlish and know how many people use the buses.
'Christian' er non-denominational ...hang if that makes sense lol.
Clockface services work best, people know exactly when to expect a service. Schedules would suit with a 20 minute or so break at Plymouth..
Even with the most modern up to date trains you will never zap through Dawlish with sharp bends at speeds of 125mph!!!!! ....If they could, I wouldnt fancy it with waves crashing on the trains! So you cant compare with other parts of the country.. First Great Western need to get the trains like Southern have ..they quietly slide out the stations..
Not long now until we have the party that will give everyone just what they ask..
Plymouth mob as you call them, not to forget, Torbay and Cornwall. together they help keep the line in place. Dawlish benefits from those people coming to the town, unless of course you don't want them!
This is worth watching if you missed the latest episode 'The Railway' the day the line reopened. http://www.channel5.com/shows/the-railway-first-great-western/episodes/network-renewed @ Howard re doiuble deck trains Found this series by Channel 4 in 1984 ...with a mention of double deck trains, how they were built in late 40s but did not last. Some good history on trains, Nationalisation and how ...
I've never said the line should not be there .. I used the train today ..wonder how many on here did? It's not rocket science, if sea levels are getting higher as we are told and if flood happens all over again there has to be an alternative line (look up what that means lol). I would not have a proiblem with Dawlish Parkway the other side of town. Most want the railway not to use it but ...
Thanks Lynne
No reason why Okehampton and Tavistock people should not have a railway for people to go to Exeter or Plymouth for work or days out. And Stephen .. Okehampton and Tavistock has no sea to stop the train from running! Who knows people from Dartmoor may visit Dawlish by train for the day ..well once anyway!
Because of the waves hitting the trains and settling on the track, surely to electrify the line would be pointless, because it will always need to have speed restrictions so you could never make faster journeys even if the most superdupa trains. I cant see any further spend on the line happening End of the day.. the line just happens to go through Dawlish. I heard recently people around ...
Did a child write that? ...further down re Kingsbridge 'we got nothing' Newton 'Abbout' lol Just spotted that, cant be bothered to read it all. Still can't work out why Dawlish has always been a 'top secret' events Carnival.
Speed restriction this morning due to the storm...so delays again. This is all becoming a bit annoying for people who want to travel by train! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=821691497896350&fref=nf
Dawlish and Torbay could really benefit in many ways if they go for it. Currently the Paignton - Exmouth local train off peak calls every hoiur at Dawlish at 50 min pass the hour. If the line was put in place a loop service could mean, say, leave Plymouth on the half hour, this would mean trains would reach Dawlish at 20 mins pass the hour, and so with the Paignton line provide a half hourly ...
Best interest rates are online accounts ...high street banks or building societies have never been better since internet..has to be why they are closing.. Post Office online at 1.4% with no restrictions. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest
Well as they have decided the busiest weekend of the year to not work .. then maybe needs to be a few jobs cuts and for 'you' that can mean lower Council Tax, your favourite subject.. Would you be happy with that? People that strike never win ..as history tells.
Thank you I see. Let's hope it doesn't happen all over again.
Oh well Ed will have plenty of money to spend.
Everyone was surprised he didn't do a vote catching speech...people would have been well quick to say ah its the election in 6 months. Poor Ed forgetting to mention the economy and imigration in his speech was so funny ..Gordon in Scotland looked fired up to be a PM again! ..then there is always Tony Blair.
What plan is in place if the line is forced to close again this winter?
Roberta... you've still not explained why Dawlish should be the ONLY town without a proper Supermarket. That is being negative is it not.
You know I heard the line they are wanting to build from London to the north will cut time by 18 minutes .but.will also require larger station exits to cope and that an extra 20 minutes should be allowed to access and exit the station. So no gain at all. Dunno what people want to do with these odd minutes they save. I see Okehampton are stepping up the call with DCC for a weekday service into ...
Well I have to say I went to your church recently and there was not much of a welcome..so i guess unless you are regular you just dont 'fit in'. Now as you have posted your 'Harvest Festival' on the discussion board and not on the 'events' page I assume you are wanting people to comment.. ....so here goes....You call yourself 'Christian' ..well I have always understood that Christians believe that ...
Well Roberta your leader Ed ...if he gets in power buy him a 'dont forget' diary lol. At least Tories remembered to talk about the economy ..how did Ed forget to?
All those were put on by Allems surely? I see on the Brook Street posting re the picture the name has changed to Purrrfect.
