On the subject of house building numbers. This is from the December 2019 Conservative party general election manifesto: " we will continue our progress towards our target of 300,000 homes a year by the mid-2020s. This will see us build at least a million more homes, of all tenures, over the next Parliament ".

I also read somewhere that the Govt. estimation of around 6,000 Covid-19 infections per day at the high point (so far) back in April may have been grossly underestimated. The true figure could be as high as 100,000 per day apparently. Although alarming, this could actually be good news......couldn't it?
Planning permission has been granted.
Using the ACE CARD, as I was told at Bramshill

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency has confirmed that Teignmouth's coastguard station will close and move to Dawlish - meaning the end of a 200-year history for the Coastguard Rescue Team in the town. Be aware the langstone cliff will charge you for parking if you do not spend a minimum of £3/person. So if you are a couple and spend less you ( Say a pot of tea ) will pay parking charges. Nothing on their website to alert you that this is happening. If you arrive at the hotel and change your mind about buying anything there may be the possiblity that you have to pay a parking charge ( ...
Thank you Lynne.
Just thought I'd bump this up as the film showings start tomorrow (Sat 5th).

for the family of eight can i say if there is anything else you need a benefits handbook on creaming or a job in broadcasting editing a newspaper or even as a political adviser. But please please do not deport. Where would we be without humility?

This has got to be the best yet. A bust of one of the founders of the british museum has had his bust removed from any prominence to a more discrete place for his alleged dealings in slavery. Now this has been alledgedly done by the museum's director who one could think knows more about slavery etc than most. I will not accept lessons of virtue, from this director. More double standards ...
The Dawlish Warren event wasent illegal so people need to get their facts right. It was held on private not public land and was attended by invitation only. Its an annual event that locals are well aware of. Those holiday makers who complain about it know where the M5 is so use it and go home
Brilliant event managed to believe we were back in the real world for an hour. Of course the odd few sheeples tried to spoil it by wondering around with their stupid looking face masks on. Far better than the Dawlish Warren rip off on Thursday afternoons. Come on Powderham lets make it a regular thing
Lovely grounds - visited there some years back. So, let's now await the planning applications. On the other hand it could be left for years as a deteriorating eyesore a bit like The Old Rectory along Weech Road and the site of Daw Vale care home along Westcliff. What a complete and utter selfish idiot!
A sad way to go..R.I.P
It always seems that the criminals always get treated better than the victims in the UK law system. Don't blur the pic out of that piece of scum and name and shame them. I don't expect its the first dog this filth has nicked, in my opinion.

Thank god for that. The whole area is an eyesore and you lot are always moaning about keeping the rail open and now that work is being given the go ahead, what do you lot do? MOAN ABOUT IT! Get your heads out of your backsides and look forward to a MUCH better future for this town, with a station and area that we can be proud of, NOT ashamed of.
Well said Fred and Deedoodle, you really do both speak the truth about all this. It really is now all about control and it is damm scary!

So the upshot of this will more than likely be the outcome the owners have wanted through their actions that have left the property in the current state, in my opinion. I cannot see any chance of the authorities doing anything else as they have done absolutely noithing to date to enforce the owners to act under the current poiwers of listed building status. Other than deny planning permission. Tax ...
A few weeks ago when there were road works outside BetFred and traffic was backed up right along The Strand, I saw a taxi drive along the footpath in the Lawn and rejoin The Strand at the ramp by the Co-op. Taxi drivers do what they like in Dawlish.
