Apologies for the site being slow this year. I’m planning an update in the new year to fix the issue. In the meantime, thank you for your patience! Wishing you all a relaxing Christmas and a great start to the New Year!
I’d like to remind members to keep discussions courteous. Debate and disagreement are fine — they’re part of healthy discussion — but personal attacks are not. Please avoid calling other members names or using labels such as “racist”, “paedo”, or similar insults. These terms are inflammatory, often shut down meaningful conversation, and can cause real harm. Thank you.
As of July 2025, new UK online safety laws have come into force. These laws aim to reduce harmful and illegal content online. They apply to all UK-accessible forums. The key things to remember are: • Don’t post anything illegal or harmful • Use the report button if you see anything concerning For more information about the laws, see the government's explainer . Thanks for being part of the ...
@BOO HOO , you're welcome.
@BOO HOO , I should also mention that if you don't want spam in your discussion feed it is best to unfollow 'Beyond Dawlish' since this tends to be all spam.
Please note that the issue with Microsoft blocking emails also applies to anyone trying to recover an old account. Email addresses affected are in this link. https://dawlish.com/thread/details/47891 Please contact me using an alternate email address and I'll recover the account for you.
You're welcome @Carer . Merry Christmas to you too and to everyone else on this site.
Apologies for the interruptions again. Crawler activity has been steadily increasing, most likely AI-related. I have increased resources again to cope with it.
Apologies again for the site being slow and unstable these last few days. It turned out it was due to Facebook's crawlers hammering the site. I will be making a few changes over the next 24 hours but the site should still be up and running. You may get signed out again every now and then, so sorry about that and it's OK to just sign back in. Technical details are here for anyone that wants to know ...
@TRB, 1) Lynne's posts are not irrelevant. 2) I'm not giving you a public warning about the lengths of your posts. I hope this clarifies things for you.
@1263 , I've reduced the picture display size, so it should show it smaller.
@Teign, events are posted under Notices, so if you unfollow Notices, you won't see events in your discussion list. I am fully aware the site is old-fashioned, over-complicated and needs simplifying. I will eventually modernise it, but it is what it is for the time being.
Thanks for your patience. Updates and checks are now complete, so you shouldn't get signed out from now on. Duplication duing photo uploading has been fixed. The photo file size has also been increasd to 30mb in response to users that were struggling to upload larger photos and were having to shrink them.

I've fixed the link. There was a semicolon on the end of it that was causing it to fail.
@DEEDOODLE , I've flipped them for you. Hopefully, I haven't reduced the quality.
Thanks Ziggy & Merry Christmas to you and everyone else on here!

@Lynne , I don't know. The no name-calling policy was meant for direct name-calling, like 'you moron' or 'you idiot'. The terms Remoaner and Brexshitter are not nice terms, but seem to have been adopted by the mainstream. Remember, freedom of speech, or the protection of free speech, is the freedom to offend, because you don't need to protect people from being nice to each other. But the freedom ...
