Piddington is a village and civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, England, located approximately 4.5 miles southeast of Bicester. Racial and Religious Demographics

Based on the 2021 Census data, the population of 358 exhibited the following ethnic and religious breakdown:

  • Ethnicity: The majority were White (341 residents), with small populations identifying as Black (6), Mixed/multiple (8), and Other ethnic group .

    Religion: The largest group identified as Christian (218 residents), followed by No religion (114).

Political sentiment in Piddington has been highlighted by recent local events regarding national policy. In 2026, the village gained international attention for a planned independence referendum organized by residents.

This movement was a response to the UK Government's plan to house 1,250 single male asylum seekers in a disused Ministry of Defence facility on the village's boundary.
