FIREFIGHTERS from Dawlish were alerted to a call from a member of the public reporting smoke coming from their boiler. The smoke had set off the property’s fire alarms. Crews from Dawlish and Teignmouth attended the scene where they found the occupant had already turned off the electric supply to the boiler before they arrived.

"Police have been informed over incident " yes, expect a few flying squad cars and a response like "We will monitor the situation ". Town council should be more interested in the carnage on exeter road.

Complete and utter s##tshow, diversion signs are non existent, back roads blocked by vehicles in single track roads. Dawlish is dying on its arse and now its impossible to visit. PART of Dawlish sea wall damaged by recent storms is expected to reopen on Sunday. Engineers working on repairs say the stretchalong the old sea wall between Dawlish (Coastguards breakwater) and Rockstone footbridge is due to reopen from approximately 10am on Sunday, April 12.

Well done to Stuart Gray but as for Dawson, PLEASE take a long run and jump off Teignmouth pier. You DON'T listen to what Dawlish needs but just let it run into the ground. The state of the Brook and the bridge in the Manor gardens for instance.

BUS SERVICES are to be severely impacted by gas works due to start in Dawlish next week. Bus company Stagecoach has announced revisions to services as Wales and West Utilities restart work replacing gas pipes.

Such a shame. Fingers crossed the remaining 5 survive.

Cllr Mike James (Image: Teignbridge Council). He was a leading councillor in Torbay before moving to Dawlish and serving on the town council there. He was elected to Teignbridge Council in 2023, and represented the Dawlish South West ward as a Liberal Democrat.

DAWLISH town and district councillor Mike James died after a fall, it was revealed today. He fell as he went to help another person who had collapsed in the street and subsequently died at the age of 89.

Network Rail are making good progress with the repairs to the storm damage on the old sea wall footpath between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren and plan to reopen the stretch between Dawlish (Coastguards breakwater) and Rockstone footbridge on Saturday 11 April. The full stretch between Dawlish and Langstone/Red Rock is expected to reopen on the early May Bank Holiday weekend ( Saturday 2 May ).  ...

ST GREGORY’S Church in Dawlish was forced to close just hours before Easter Sunday service after a glass panel shattered inside. One of the large upper Narthex windows had shattered leaving shards of glass across the floor and on chairs.

A cygnet has hatched from a black swan egg in Dawlish. The first cygnet from three black swan nests with eggs in Dawlish, has hatched in time for Easter. The arrival of the hatchling has been warmly welcomed by the local wildfowl warden, as storms battered the town earlier this year and floodwater in Dawlish Waster washed cygnets and nests of eggs away.

'Idiot season' has started early.

ENGINEERS working on repairs to Dawlish sea wall say they are making ‘good progress’. Repair work is needed to the old sea wall footpath between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren after storm damaged earlier this year.

TEIGNBRIDGE District Council has added its condolences following the death of Dawlish councillor Mike James which was announced earlier today. A spokesman said: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Councillor Mike James of the Dawlish South West Ward.’.
