Mentioned on the other thread about this pub - it has been referred to as an 'uninsurable event'. Some might call it  'an act of God'. Both of which seems a load of BS as the pub was just neglected over a long period of time and the issue was well known. And yeah, bizarre how a pub is seen as a 'community asset', whereas public toilets are not.

@1263 It's already happening. Councils encouraging and facilitating volunteering is just an extension of Cameron's Big Society and what Wrigley as Leader of TDC called 'Community Powered Councils'. @1263 You're wrong. The Lib Dem % of the vote in Dawlish was up on 2021 by almost 2%. They only gained 3 more votes compared to 2021. But as turn-out was lower this year their vote share went up.
