Never seen a trout as big as this in the Brook in the last decade or so. It had to be a good foot + in length. Puts the fish they sell at the farmer's market to shame.

'Borders' is telling us there are a further two eggs! What realistic chance is there that they can survive an autumn upbringing? - I hope they can, but it will be a shame if all their efforts end up in tragedy.
They have been back and forwards all summer maybe they will make the brook there home. They seem to get on ok with the black ones watching them yesterday they all seem to ignore each other.

The Government has been accused of failing to deliver on its pledge to protect the region's vulnerable rail links, after ministers admitted the issue is on their "to-do list". The comments come almost three years after the region's only rail connection to the rest of the UK was washed away by severe winter storms. The incident cost Devon and Cornwall millions of pounds in lost business, and ...
I do wonder what it will take for people to learn. I was behind a woman from Teignmouth to Kingsteignton roundabout blatantly texting the whole way!
So sad. But still magnificent creature.
I'd just received my actually tax refund (back in July) in the post then a few days later I received the same email as above. It had a link to a web page to fill in your bank account details and looked very genuine. The Government / TPS / MPS / ombudsman / whoever should do something about all this scamming. All we got was that VERY annoying cookie warning. All browsers have had the option to ...

This is the moment Devon's 'cruelest father of the bride' pranks his own daughter by droppin her wedding cake - which is actually a fake. In the footage Andy is heard saying as he picks up the cake: "I'd just like to say - has anyone looked at this cake, because it is absolutely fantastic." Andy then drops the cake before quickly reassuring the worried crowd by saying: "Don't worry - it's ...
Owing to the restricted space on the sea wall and the sheer drop, cyclists are a danger to themselves and law-abiding people who walk/jog along the route. Well done to the police for acting on the growing concerns about a selfish minority of cyclists. To be fair, most cyclists realise that councils have bent over backwards to provide cycle lanes, expensive scenic routes (Powderham - Turf) so they ...

Me too Deedoodle! I too walked around town last week in the late afternoon and evenings and saw the usual suspects openly drinking from beer cans, cider bottles etc! Not a plastic or real Bobby in sight to impose the PSPO! Why do we have this problem in Dawlish and other towns do not seem suffer a similar problem?

Took this pic yesterday of the some of the beach huts on the Exmouth beach front. It's not the best pic I have ever taken, but the fact that I took it with a little pocket camera I picked up second hand off the internet and i was holding the camera, not on a tripod, and took it from Coryton cove 3.93 miles away. Just a curiosity for those interested in photography and camera's. Camera was ...
That's because I'm not there. I do hope you all are calling the 101 number, remember every call that is logged is read from the top down and lands on Joe Mathews desk in Newton Abbot. Not to worry I will be back in 3 weeks and I will be on the phone and emailing the respective people. The 101 number personel and Joe Mathews know I'm a pain in there rear. It's so nice to be Stateside again.

So what happens to the patients who are now homeless. Care in the community is a joke. There are not enough homes, or staff to check they are taking medication. Crisis teams are in crisis. When will people realise how serious this is. We are all keen to support cancer patients, heart patients etc. But there is still stigma attached to mental illness. One in three people will at some point ...
Yes, I could hear it, and I live on the West Cliff. Must have been hell for people who live up that end of town (unless they were at the party, of course).
