@leatash , when was the survey? the first we heard about it was when the results were posted in the gazette!

Just wondering if anyone else thinks Sainsburys here are ripping us off? Petrol is £1.38.9 a litre here and £1.33.9 at Sainsburys, Brixham Rd, Paignton. Diesel is £1.44.9 here and £1.40.9 at Paignton. The garage in Starcross is charging the same as Sainsburys, or was last time I looked. Does anyone know what Sainsburys are charging at Newton Abbott and Exeter? Is it time for a really serious ...
@leatash , going slightly off topic...but are we going back to weekly bin collections?
I'm moving house and I really would rather not take this with us! It is blue, in used condition, but hasn't been excessively used. It could probably do with a clean as well, however, it is still very servicable, in my opinion. Anyone interested e-mail fishccer@aol.com .
This seems a reasonable response, lets see what happens from here Many thanks for your email and I have recently asked that the parking restrictions you refer to be removed, as background about five years ago DCC proposed to remove the restrictions and I asked for them to be retained following representations from the two shops then still open but now there is no requirement and I was surprised to ...
Whilst I agree that the seagulls in the current numbers can be a nuisance, I do not appreciate having one shot with an air rifle in the middle of the afternoon right near where I live. It is also breeding season at the moment and the one that was shot is part of a nesting pair. The seagull in question was wounded, it fell onto a nearby roof and was writhing in what I imagine was pain, it then fell ...
Wonder whether this will encourage either DCC or TCC to start a 6th form?
I had the same problem, went to Tools, then clicked on Compatibility View, this solved the problem. Don't know whether you would have to do this every time you came back to the forum though.
Hello all, ok been here for nearly 2 years now and have not found the best hairdressers in Dawlish yet. Can anyone recommend one?
So it would cost me £17 for a family of 4, plus parking at Starcross. I think that may be a bit excessive for a days shopping. Family return would be good though, makes it more affordable, although, if I was going alone, £5 isn't that bad. Bloody kids, no wonder I never have any money lol, kidding, love 'em really.
Funny you should say that, the woman in the chippy actually came out and told him to get lost as they were losing trade. I imagine people see him and instead of pulling in they drive past and find another chippy.
Thankyou for the weblink wondering, will have a good look tomorrow. I will look tomorrow (when not had wine) to see what proposed nfor Dawlish in near future
I didn't really want any supermarket at all! I admit, coming from a town that had Asda, Tesco and Morrisons to a town that didn't have anything at all was a bit of a culture shock, but then I discovered the pleasure of walking round the local shops a couple of times a week to buy what I need. I find I spend less overall because I have a list in my head of exactly what I need and because I'm not ...
I think it's a shame more locals didn't turn up though, my kids go to one of the two primary schools in Dawlish and didn't see one other kid they knew there.
We moved here 15 months ago and hope never to leave. It has it's bad points, doesn't everywhere? But the good points far outweigh them
Take something very loud with you when you go out and if you find the way blocked, use it as a car would it's horn, you'd soon make your point lol. I used to have to step out onto a busy 2 lane road with a pushchair where I used to live, to avoid cars parked on the pavement, eventually I accidentaly scratched the car with the pushchair, surprisingly, this solved the problem!
Depends on the reasons for doing it I think, but it's a sad reflection on our society if it's done from necessity.
A-ha, no need to reply, just found you on Facebook, you do good things, may join in if I can get a team together
I don't know how true that is, but I do know I never received any information on what the process was for applying to grammar school or any on how to enter your child for the exam. It wouldn't kill the schools to send out an information leaflet as the exam approaches.
Depends who lives in them when they're finished!
Fair point, it's just I'm used to having a local tip open 7 days a week, but the size of the town warranted that.
Ok, I read through the whole document online, which had to be zoomed to 600%! I was surprised, I actually agree with alot of what they propose. My only concern would be that the buildings they are proposing i.e, lawn pavillion, new bowling club house in town and bike hire and cafe and visitor centre at the Warren would be too modern looking. The area as a whole is old fashioned and that is what I ...
Brightening up! It's a lovely town, I moved here just under a year ago which I wouldn't have done if I didn't like it, but looking at it realistically, it is a bit dull. The town I moved from had an area just outside the town centre that was looking old and shabby, the town council raised funds and provided the business holders with quite a large percentage of the cost of repainting their ...
Just being a bit lazy really, asking on here instead of just doing some research, but I'd like to know why the High St is being closed for 3 and a half months, anyone know?
I've always found Sainsburys to be far more expensive than Tescos, what about you? I think I'd still do my shopping online with Tesco or Asda even if we did have a Sainsburys.
Hi all, new to the area and am looking for a good garage as my car is playing up, can anyone recommend one locally? Thanks
I have to say, I wasn't particularly impressed when we went to pick up our pre-ordered turkey breast roll, my husband had ordered it and asked specifically for one that would cost £10 as we are a 2 adult, 2 young children family and did not want to be eating turkey for the next week, not a problem, the guy behind the counter said, it will be ready on the 23rd. When we went to collect it, we were ...
We did, we have just moved to the town and had a wonderful 2 days, thankyou.
