Polling stations are open across Teignbridge today as residents cast their votes to decide the councillors that will represent them on Devon County Council.

A MAN from Dawlish has been jailed for a violent assault on his former partner. Richard Williams, 39, of Holman Close in Dawlish, appeared at Exeter Crown Court after pleading guilty of three assaults occasioning actual bodily harm, non-fatal strangulation and criminal damage.

A Dawlish woman who ran her first marathon on Sunday (April 27) has raised nearly £2,000 for Newton Abbot charity Life Chance Trust. Shannon Izod started running three years ago and, after completing the Couch to 5K programme, she trained for and completed a half marathon.

A pedestrian was left permanently disabled after being hit by a driver on a zebra crossing in Dawlish , a court heard. Jacqueline Wright, 62, was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta that hit the woman on Exeter Road in January 2024.
