Owing to damage caused by Storm Ciaran, sections of the walkway along the old sea wall are closed: Between Coastguard’s and Red Rock, Langstone, at Dawlish. Between Smugglers Cove and Sprey Point towards Teignmouth. Barriers are being put in place and the walkways are closed until further notice. Thank you for your patience while we carry out repairs.

Network Rail has issued its own warning to anyone living near a railway line. People who live near the railway are being urged to keep garden objects such as trampolines, tarpaulins, and tents tied down and secured to ensure they don’t end up on the tracks as a result of very strong winds.
