If anyone is interested in knowing why no sites were selected it seems that the main issue is that most of the land lays within the Dawlish Warren Critical Drainage Area and for the time being at least the Environment Agency has put an effective ban on any more development there due to flood risk. The tiny village is often overlooked as tourists make a beeline for nearby Dawlish but Starcross has plenty to take in. Just 15 minutes by train from Exeter or easily accessible by bike, you can stop off at one of their two cosy pubs, stop for a coffee at the ever-popular Teign Bean coffee van, catch a ferry to Exmouth or just sit and watch the world go by.
