It's as simple as stated previously, places that have tried evening opening simply don't get enough customers to make it worthwhile. Just about everyone I know goes to Smugglers to eat out of an evening, they are always busy.

It poses the question "Is it sensible in anyone's terms to spend £200K on a building that has no current function?" Definately not, it's about time people in the UK realise that when a building is no longer needed the time has come to knock it down. This old wooden box is neither use nor ornament. Absolutely disgraceful that such an improvement is deemed unacceptable, even though many of us have contacted the council and signed a petition opposing its removal. Why don't these 'jobsworths' listen to people who live here and appreciate people who try to improve the area.

Teignbridge council opposed the change of use of the property in Teignmouth when the legal notices were published in the newspapers, as they were concerned that closing the exsiting Police Station would be the 'thin end of the wedge' to transfer policing from Teignmouth to Newton Abbot. Firstly, payments by card attract bank charges, the 20p covers this. One advantage no-one seems to be aware off is that if you are going to be late back to your parking you can pay for extra parking by phone so avoiding a penalty charge. However, as previously stated, it isn't compulsory, if you don't like it or want to pay the extra 20p then just put your money in the slot!!

Yes, it is going to be an Old Fashioned Sweet shop, as per the one in Teignmouth. Added to the new fudge shop Sticky Fingers and Gays, and of course the well established Jen's Sweet Shop which I hope locals will continue to support in preference to these 'newbies'.
