Done in May apparently. Shame they can't pool some of the excess water so that it irrigates the lawn during a drought. All that new planting could have been taken care of automatically. http://www.dawlishnewspapers.co.uk/news.cfm?id=14110
There's still time, they've got about 20 so far. Call Barry Dunn on 888754.
'the staff at the cafe were told they could not pick up the rubbish'? Is there a law against picking up litter?
When I was a visitor, I enjoyed the carnival, pram race, air show each year. Since I've lived here it's clearly been petering out, which is a shame. I don't know the history of this, but it seems from the comments that politics are bringing it down. I wouldn't want to see the Carnival in Dawlish Warren, I want to see Dawlish keep it, otherwise it may as well give up the ghost completely. ...
As an aside, the cost of living in London is only when it comes to property. Like for like I pay more in council tax, public transport, petrol and water rates down here than I ever did in London. And on the rare occasions I've needed to get a taxi to/from Exeter, it's been as expensive as my old mini cab firm!
I'd forgotten what a seaside town was meant to look like.
Apparently it's scheduled to get two waterings a week for the next 6-8 weeks. I don't pass often enough to know if that's happening but if not call the Teignbridge Open Spaces number on 215851.
It is a shame if the place has upped its game. You can't really blame the pub but sometimes punters need a (friendly) nudge from the bar staff to get them to change the subject. Otherwise, like you, people will steer clear.
They're still working on it and I think it's generally shaping up well, although the plants do look like they could do with a good soaking. So now we have hanging baskets and planted banks - how come, when I read here that the money had run out? Does that mean the wooden rails will be replaced too?
Shag Rock I believe.
