MPs have called for urgent reform of railway services in the South West. Mr Wrigley set the tone by recalling the infamous Dawlish storm of 2014, which devastated railway infrastructure and cost the regional economy an estimated £1.2 billion.
Dawlish Warren is basking in a splendid day. The sun, low in an unblemished sky, casts elongated shadows across the deserted amusement park. With shutters drawn, gates sealed, temperatures hovering around freezing, shops closed, and, most notably, devoid of tourists.

Railway services between Exeter’s St David’s and Plymouth currently cancelled owing to an incident on the line near Starcross. Services expected to resume 6pm (Sat 18/1/25).

A COMMUNITY project exploring memories of dancing in the heyday of the 20th century seaside music scene is set to culminate with a celebratory public dance event in Dawlish. Over the last few months, At The Hop! has seen older Dawlish residents in care home and community groups to share their reminiscences of going out dancing in their youth.
