Some properties in a Devon seaside town have lost their water supply following reports of a burst pipe. South West Water (SWW) said on its website , external at 07:00 GMT on Friday some customers in Dawlish had lower water pressure than normal or a loss of supply. A tribute to Mike Strickland – a stalwart of Teignbridge ramblers clubs. Newton Abbot Ramblers club and Teignmouth and Dawlish Ramblers are mourning the death of one of their most committed members - Mike Strickland, writes Sarah Buck.

NOMINATIONS are open to find this year’s Dawlish unsung heroes. Dawlish Town Council’s annual Community Awards recognise individuals and organisations which have given outstanding service to the town and its residents.

RESIDENTS in Dawlish and Cockwood have until the end of this month to add their support to the introduction of 20mph zones. Dawlish Town Council has put forward a number of roads in both areas to Devon County Council highways for consideration to restrict traffic speeds.

THREE new Black Swan eggs have been laid on a nesting site in Dawlish. The latest eggs follow the first egg being attacked by seagulls. Despite the set back, the breeding pair of dad Bert and mum Kimba are continuing with their next brood.

AS is often the case, Teignbridge Trotters were well-represented at the Dawlish Coasters “O My Obelisk” event, a race which took place on Sunday, January 12 and is the latest round of the club championship.

A huge fundraising effort has been launched to help the owners of a beach shack destroyed in a devastating fire over the weekend. It has triggered a massive outpouring of support, with people from Teignmouth community along with Dawlish , Starcross, Kingsteignton and Newton Abbot offering to help the business.
