To be serious for a moment. Think on this. If. for the sake of arguement, part of the present CW did have a name change then I wonder how that might impact on the ability of those living there to get things like credit cards/open bank accounts/get passports etc. I haven't needed to open anything like that for ages but I seem to vaguely recall that you get asked how long you have been living at ...

More info (leaflet just come through the letterbox) Sandy Lane will be closed to vehicles throughout the duration of the works. If you have a vehicle or vehicles on Exeter Road please remove them whilst the works are in progress (any remaining vehicles may be towed away). If you live on Exeter Road there maybe times when access to/from your driveway may not be possible. Works will generally take ...
There is more about this subject in this week's Gazette (see page two). To be (increased) or not to be (increased), still seems to be the question.
So.......to get back to the original topic of this thread - the link road (although I accept that there is a Sainsbury's link (ouch!)). Anyway.......to get back to the original topic of this thread, I see from the report in the Gazette that no date has been given as to when this road will be built.
Yes. But......... there is also the issue of equal pay for work of equal value. ie not necessarily doing the same job but one that should be paid the same amount as a job being done by a man/men because although both jobs may be different the amount of skill, qualifications etc required to do both jobs are comparable. Employers must pay men and women equally if they are doing 'like work ', which ...
What is deemed to be dirty and what is not varies from culture to culture. We have dogs in our houses and treat them like members of the family., Some people not only let them on their furniture but also on their beds. Other cultures don't see dogs as pets (but as food) and others see them as being dirty creatures that should not be allowed anywhere near the inside of a home. Cows are sacred ...
When they blow themselves up they believe they will go to Paradise and that they will be even further rewarded the more non believers that they kill.
So the over 75s would have to pay to watch the BBC? Unlike now, when they don't.
I don't have a problem with eating food that is more local to us. And continental Europe is a darn site nearer to us than anywhere else on the planet (barring the Republic of Ireland). @Diane Mondeo - if, say, just for the sake of argument, we were to have no imports whatsoever from continental europe do you really believe that would stop the illegal imports of drugs, people and guns? and aren't ...
Okay .....so.....aren't all TDC car parks off road? What does Section 55 etc etc say as to how such revenues should be spent?
At the last (17.1.18) meeting of the town council's Civic Amenities Committee meeting, amongst other items on the agenda was that of benches. It looks like it might be good news. Click on the link below to read all about the benches and various other items that were discussed at that meeting. http://www.dawlish.gov.uk/edit/uploads/2334_319615029.pdf
Just had a phone call from someone purporting to be from Talk Talk. Apparently we are having problems with our internet connection and the person on the other end of the line said that they wished to install some software in order to rectify it!!!!!!! Beware!
Perhaps it's the government's way of trying to raise funds to pay for all those extra customs officers and check points and things that we will need if we crash out of the EU.
EU legislation. http:// www.trustedreviews.com/news/credit-card-fee-charge-ban-uk-3370844
I don't have a short memory at all. I am perfectly aware that some properties were occupied before they should have been as there should have been a SANGS in place. This was then rectified on a temporary basis. The need for a SANGS originated, still does originate, from EU legislation concerning environmental protection. The developers, like all developers, will have paid a certain amount of money ...
Sorry but I have been in some car parks whereby you take a ticket as you go in and the barrier rises so that you can do so. Then, when you wish to leave you find the nearest paying machine within the car park to where your car is parked and pay the amount required. Then you take your ticket that has now been through the paying machine and then when you reach the barrier you insert it and the ...
I've not done this myself (yet) but would split ticketing be of any help? http://www.raileasy.co.uk/home/split-ticketing
What!? All those foreign Welsh people coming over 'ere and using our English NHS? Time for a Wexit?
Do you mean this Anne Milton? https://www.parliament.uk/biographies/commons/anne-milton/1523
A certain poster might appreciate Leatash's posting after all it is a photo that shows a sign telling cyclists to dismount. A Happy New Year to EU all.
I'd say that the reason the lycra cyclists don't use the cycle paths is because the cycle paths were built for the more leisurely type of cyclists eg kids and families. And as a lot of the cycle paths are also pathways the last thing pedestrians want are fast pedalling athletes sharing their space.
Just a reminder that if you were born anywhere on the island of Ireland or can prove Irish descent (not sure by how many generations back) you will be eligible for Republic of Ireland nationality and therefore an Irish passport. Which means you can carry an EU passport and be an EU citizen. So......those UK nationals born in NI can be EU citizens if they so wish. Whilst those born in Scotland, ...

A skate park for fish?
Yup! She'll deffo be hoping no-one talks turkey.......... (but what a cracker if they did)
Of fences not allowed.
More than likely (and remember you said it first Leatash, not me.) And it seems by the agrees that you are getting that it isn't only you and I who think that way
I didn't start this thread. Leatash you're not being political again, are you ?
10:54 Proposal to approve the Mini Golf plans as set out Unanimously approved by the council 10:53 Cllr Charlie Dennis As someone who lives nowhere near Dawlish, this is the sort of thing that a seaside town needs. it is a prime position for it. this is an ideal position for this and i support it 10:52 Cllr Humphrey Clemens I have heard numerous remarks that i kind difficult to accept - why would ...

Well there you are then. He could go on the speaking circuit. And if doesn't work out he could always apply for a job as a barman........

And there was I thinking it was Santa doing a dummy run before the big day......
Yes I know that (and thanks for your help). I asked as there are no minutes online for any of the full council meetings since July of this year. That is why I asked the question as there is (presently) no way for me (or anyone else for that matter) to check. Just wondered if anyone reading this had been in the public gallery at any time since July and noticed whether or not they had been there.
So........... back to the debate about banks. I don't use online banking and I prefer to pay by cash rather than by credit card. And each time a bank or building society has closed an outlet near to where I live I have removed my funds from them. For example, remember the small Halifax B/soc outlet that used to be in Queen Street. I think it closed 2009 ish. So when it closed so then I closed my ...
I just happened across this FOI concerning TDC playpark closures and budgets. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/playground_budgets_and_closures_275#incoming-897575
There is a full council meeting this evening. I wonder if the signs and last Friday's media coverage will get a mention?
