Since the completion of The Point car park defences the beach has changed and does not seem in any hurry to revert back. In the 15+ years I have lived down here I have never seen the area around The Point car park so eroded and at the same time very large build up of sand before the erosion area and on the tip of The Point car park, where the sheds are during the Summer.

I am aware that the sand can vary in height on the Teignmouth beach, as is usual of Dawlish where the beach can go from just sand and within a few days can be 10 foot or lower with just exposed sewers and twisted rebar and rock, but invariably within a few days or a week it is back to sand again. The Teignmouth beach has been in this state for months.

Has the work on The Point car park changed the dynamic of Teignmouth beach permanently? Were there any studies done to see how the beach would be affrected by these changes before they started work?
