Rather alarming to consider that there are active Jihadists living just down the road in Plymouth. However, the failure of this plot must surely give the police an excellent opportunity to mop up any active terrorists down there. (And then what do we do with them? - but that's a different matter!)
Dawlish IS wonderful. I don't know about the council, but you're making a lot of noise about it, as are some others. If there are irregularities, and if, as suggested you can be specific then let us know. If you have this information I presume you don't want to keep it to yourself. So what exactly is it that you're grumbling about - I'm open minded: convince me then!
My memory on this is a bit rusty, but are these flats the ones I read about in the local paper on a planning appeal that were described as like something from a Soviet Gulag by the Council? And in mitigation it was said that the holiday makers at the Warren wouldn't want anything better? Approved on that basis. Can't remember the exact wording but I think application was for Protheroe jnr and his ...
In fact the Council never stop cleaning and brushing and poking around on the sea-walk below the station. Often you can smell a TCP pong from 100 yards. They seem to stop short, though, of killing off the pigeons.
Dullish, Your last post contains echoes of other posters earlier digs on other strands about the local council. But can you point to any actions individuals may have made that prop up your case?
Unexpectedly Queen Street is open again - just in time for the Strand to close.
Looks to me like a result, maybe a bit bigger next time but well done!
Surf?
If so it's a real shame. What do people want: a single point of view on these boards? For example, there are loads of locals who get nothing out of tourism and think that tourists only benefit a small number of vested interests. It's an arguable point. Why moan at Bob for mentioning it - just engage if that's what you feel, not just throw cheap insults. A challenge to Dawlish - engage with Bob!
Be fair; in accounting terms you would not expect to see a business plan for such a relatively small amount of money. Not to say though that you are not entitled to know how it's been spent.
