I imagined due to the publicity it was going to take the whole lawn up, not just be a little box thing. Good fun I guess but I'd fall over!
Not exactly what was on the leaflet was it? But enjoyed watching my kids on it and they were given more time than allocated, so good value in the end.
Lots of kids seeming to enjoy themselves.
Possibly should have been advertised as a skating rink (as opposed to ice skating) but there you are.
Same philosophy as dry ski slope ski-ing - if we don't have snow and ice then we have to improvise.
If it's a success then great and it seemed to be today.
Lots of people in the town.
Well, yes, it is small, I have to admit. But the kids are loving it so in my book that makes it a success.
For all those who think it is small, if you knew how much money (what you see) has cost than you would begin to realise why a bigger unit was not feasible.
Thankyou for those people who have been and enjoyed themselves, for your support
chamber
The complaint is not that it was small, but it looked nothing like advertised. If you went by the pamphlet it should have covered the Lawn, not be hidden by the Bandstand.
As I said in a previous posting, my kids enjoyed it. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to having a go, but it would have been like me swimming in a paddling pool rather than a swimming pool.
What a joke! Not at all how I imagined it to be. If it was that expensive then the money should have been spent on something more worthwhile, like finishing off the park.
It had been the topic of discussion all week amongst the older children only to be disappointed and too embarrassed to use it.
I think the advert should have been more realistic on the size.
Good the little ones enjoyed it .
The chamber accepts that the size of rink is smaller than anticapated .If budgets allow and we were able to bring a bigger version to the town next year ,say size being 15metres by 14 metres wich is approx one and half times the size of this years would you use it and how much would you be prepared to pay.
Positive feedback please
How about getting in touch with the entertainment committee and see if it would be a possibility for carnival week.
Just a thought.
if only we could get rid of the Fair and have things residents want rather than what they think we want
Would just like to say that my teenage daughter and her mates went and loved it.
A neighbourhood got nagged by her kids to go each day.
And I've just received an e-mail from a friend saying what a great time she and her kids had.
Only complaint seems to be that it wasn't big enough. And on that point I'll say no more........!
Well done Dawlish Chamber of Trade.
many thanks for your comments, and the hours that the busy chamber of trade members put in to help this weekend go so well should be congratulated and not winged about, and if the ones moaning can do a better job then iwould suggest they give it a try
