Why don't you email the town clerk and ask? go to dawlish.gov.uk and try the contact link
Because it wasn't well supported. People didn't spend enough money to make it worth doing sadly. It's a shame because there was some really nice stuff sold.
It's still owned by the Post Office and the rent is rediculous, and the lease is not a long one, hardly an appealling prospect for any potential tenant!
What makes you think Tesco's will just give up if Sainsbury's come to Dawlish? Smaller towns than this one have more than one supermarket
Did I say have a supermarket on Sandy Lane? I don't think so......... perhaps I did by telepathy or even by subliminal messages. What I said is that the DARE figures do not represent the majority of Dawlish residents, maybe they do but until the MAJORITY respond to their surveys they cannot claim to speak for the town. I certainly would prefer a supermarket at Shutterton, far better location.
The DARE survey. 2000 replies out of 10500 households in Dawlish. 96% of that does not equate to a resounding 'no' from the population of Dawlish - it equates to a resounding 'no' from those who bothered to reply. The same as their meeting in which a majority said 'no' to a supermarket - those people at that meeting were the ones that have the time to go from shop to shop to buy what they need ...
Have you bothered reporting your suspicions to the Police? Or is this just speculation because he's homeless? Why not have a word with one of our PCSO's - they won't do anything but they can pass the info on to a 'real' policeman.
Well done, our family can take credit for 40 votes!!!!!
This is interesting that the two posts so far are not outrightly against Tesco's at Sandy Lane. If you listen to Dare's propoganda you'd believe that ALL of Dawlish's residents were carrying flaming torches ready to lynch Tesco's if they set so much as a foot in town. Personally, I'd prefer the supermarket out at Shutterton.
Nice chips, friendly girls serving - well done!
