Shouldn't it be 'Rock n' sole' in order to get the pun correct?

It is up Strand Hill. Find Bet Fred (Can't miss it really) Go up road to right and it is at the top on left.......you will probably see the queue of people leading to it....

Finally, Dawlish needed a decent Fish and Chip Shop! Real Potato chips, fantastic fish and a large variety menu! Plus lovely to see staff working with a smile and enjoying the buzz of serving those hungry customers to make them have the best meal of the week! Well Done!

Charged 80p for an empty cardboard box for my son and daughter to eat their supper out of. Seemed a bit steep when i had spent over £20. could understand it if i were a tourist. (sadly).

And did you complain at the time to the fish & chip shop or have you just restricted yourself to this forum?

We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy having to paying for an extra box.

The reason you were charged an additional 80 pence is because we factor in the price of our packaging into our menu and so any extra packaging taken is an additional cost.
The cost of one of the cardboard chip trays isn’t as high as a printed box. Next time when splitting one meal between two, it might be more cost effective to ask for an extra tray instead of a box, especially if it’s to give to your kids.

When they give it to us for free, we will give it away for free!

We are trying to reduce and switch all our packaging to recyclable materials. During this period we would appreciate feedback on the new packaging.

Many Thanks, all at Rock 'n' Sole

A complimentary box would have been a goodwill gesture

Why should you be treated special because you live here? .. at least tourists are happy to be here. It didnt take long before the 'knocks' came in for the chip shop. Sad isnt it and people wonder why no new shops here set up here.
You know theres a saying .. plenty of people will knock you down ..but not many will pick you up.

Local trade is all year if retail outlets only think of tourist trade its no wonder locals go out of town to shop.
The profit margin in restarants take away outlets is quite high giving away a box that probably cost 20p wouldnt have broken the bank. If a bit of good will is given people go back.

If you knew the price of the box (80p) before hand.. you had two choices...Pay up or not. If you weren't a tourist, why couldn't you have taken the meal home and divided it on a plate for your children.
You always have choices.
