Just wanted to let everyone know that Dawlish have WON the vote and will be getting the skate park. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported this project - its fantastic news for the young people. It's on Westcountry TV at 6 pm again tonight showing the result.

Thanks, we all really appreciate the support we have received from all the residents - it's been overwhelming. Here's to spending 94k and building something which will keep the youngsters entertained for years to come.

Yes true. I am not sure that it was a genuine result, if as they say on here everyone wanting it telephoned as many as 10 times each! Shame the kids are unable to fill their time with good/learn of some sort rather than just skate around.

Fantastic news! It's about time there were some facilities for the youngsters of Dawlish. Bring on the skate park! Forget about learning something- that is what school is for! They need somewhere to enjoy their leisure time- all work and no play and all that :)

I just wanted to say that it was a genuine result and people were instructed that they could vote up to 10 times on one phone number. The people of Bude were told this as well. This information was sent out a few weeks ago when we first heard about it, as I am sure did Bude also - it came from the Lottery people! I think its brilliant and has obviously been really well supported by the majority of people in Dawlish. Sadly, you will always have a minority of people that are negative, but that's life! Just to see the huge smile on my son's face when I told him said it all!

Who will now get the biggest share of the dosh?????

Fantastic news - tell me, as Dawlish has had no real policing for some years now, has the campaign to raise money for the CCTV you are going to need around there started yet. What's the number to call??
Seriously, it's not negativity, it's reality. Go and have a walk around every park in Dawlish like I have over the time with my kids, and you will see really explicit graffiti, bits snapped off, swings pulled down and the Manor, oh yes it was burnt down wasn't it?. It's very nice to do something like this, but you just know what's going to happen.
