I've just heard a rumour that is rapidly gaining ground about Teignbridge Council raising the annual rents of beach huts in Dawlish, Dawlish Warren and Teignmouth by about 50%. Apparently, previous annual increases have been in the region of 5%. This seems to be disproportionate and is grossly unfair and could be construed as a tax on local people enjoying themselves.

Apparently a Town Councillor was interviewed by ITN West News yesterday and he advised that the Town Council believe that the proposed new sea wall will spoil the Town. Has anyone seen the broadcast? Why are our Town Councillors opposing a scheme that is the future life blood of the south west?

Councillor Clayson, thanks for the update and also your continued support for the residents of Dawlish, this is a very thorny subject and Iam encouraged that at least one of our elected members is being proactive and keeping the community informed.
