Does anyone know why the Brewery Pub along the High Street is closed?
Just read in the Express & Echo the staff at Dawlish Stokes are to keep their jobs.
Why is the new youth centre in Sandy Lane closed in the school half term week? I walked by there this evening and saw a woman get out of her car to check opening times and couldn't believe it was closed. I thought it was going to be a youth centre for the youth of Dawlish, it seems to be more of a college training centre opening only in school term time!!!!

According to the BBC, a further nine Stokes greengrocers have closed across the South West after failing to attract a buyer. The Bristol, Exeter, Falmouth, Honiton, Sherborne, Tavistock, Torquay, Totnes and Wadebridge stores have closed resulting in 72 redundancies. Dawlish Stokes is one of the shops saved (for now) Newton Abbot has gone. As for the Co-op it doesn't have the same selection, I went in there the other day for some chillies and was told oh we don't sell chillies! I was told today the only reason the Co-op bought Woolworths was so no other food chain would get in there, eg Tesco.

A blue Fiat Punto which failed to stop for a routine check in the Mamhead area was chased by police. The authorised chase ended in Barton Terrace, Dawlish, where a 20-year-old man was arrested and released on police bail until December 9th. A quantity of herbal cannabis was allegedly found on a 15-year-old girl passenger.
