A rather misleading headline and as Deedoodle says, it it the weather that is to blame and not what one would expect from the headline, mindless vandalism. Let's hope something is done about it ASAP so that it is in pristine condition for this years RBL Remembrance Parade on Suday November 13th.

In my opinion, the railway collapse at Dawlish was purely down to the railway companies lack of maintenance to the sea wall. You only have to walk along the beach from Dawlish to the Warren to see large, deep cracks and base sections of concrete that have worn away along the sea wall below the railway line. Yes, the weather would seem to be to blame for the erosion, hopefully the Dawlish councillors can spend a little money on refurbishing the War Memorial. They don't seem to have any problems spending thousands on less worthy causes.
The town crier for Dawlish, Steve Cunliffe, has called for a war memorial to be re-vamped after claiming the monument has been damaged. The names of several people are on that particular part of the monument whose lives have fallen whilst fighting for the British Armed Forces since 1945. Read more... ...
