It's been a fiasco from the start. The toilets should never have been closed in the first place given the large numbers of visitors using the car park. They were sacrificed for Sandy Lane toilets so a few dog walkers could go to the loo!

I've been told, and it was also in the paper, that the person who won the tender subsequently pulled out of the deal. Who that was and why that was I have no idea and I doubt that it will ever be put in the public domain.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Neighbourhood Police say that local residents have received calls claiming to be from both a tax litigation department and Devon and Cornwall Police. From what Lynne gleamed (her post 7th April 2016 07:15) TDC was awarded £30k to convert the facility into a new cycle hire facility. The w.c's were originally closed down in October 2014, I believe, reopened this summer and now closed for the winter. Breaking Wind was quite keen to open a cycle shop at the location. Why not forget putting it out to tender, as no one else seems to be ...
There is a notice in the paper for tenders for the shop.
I thought the cycle shop was supposed to be open for this summer! The cycle shop is just an empty shell with the toilet tiles still on the wall, no ceiling and no power points to be seen.
