What about restoring the Brook itself?
Carer's Posts
He has now been released and no longer part of the investigation.
Not another petition. About time us locals started a petition to shut her up and get the Brook restored to it's usual beauty instead of being a dump. That's more important than the viaduct. Just saw this in the story in the MDA. "The condition of the viaduct sends the wrong message about our community". More like the condition of the Brook sends out a message that our council don't give one iota ...
Who had the firework display last night, 04/07/2026. It certainly sounded like a good display. Not complaining, just curious as to who held it.
I seem to recall that everyone(?) was in favour of privatisation when Thatcher introduced it.
@Knighton Is that right? Considering that the roadworks are about 300 yards further on, how can that be? I thought that accidents were caused by careless drivers.
Just shows how fickle the voters are in this town. No chance now of getting the Brook cleaned up in the foreseeable future. So to all of you who moan about the Brook and voted for this waste of space, you only have yourselves to blame.
He is NOT a hero but a sportsman who gets paid more in a year than some get in a lifetime. Real Heroes put their lives on the line for their country, not for kicking a ball around. Makes me sick when people refer to sportsmen and women as heroes.
Nothing will come of it, but maybe a slap on the wrist.
@ Cassandra Leaflets don't matter. It's polling cards that matter so if you don't get one of those, then you can't vote.
Any chance of our council members or our glorious Lib Dumb MP helping out? Funny he wasn't there for the photo op with a spade in his hand.
In the communication put through my letterbox, the Lib Dumbs say that they are "Listening to the people of Dawlish". What a joke that is as it must be falling of death ears. The people of Dawlish have been asking about the cleaning of the Brook but they don't listen. The state of the Brook is a disgrace to the town, but the Lib Dumbs just don't care. Get rid of them. They are useless.
Things are looking good. Lets hope it stays like it. 🙏🙏🙏
As said in the MDA report, " in a precarious and vulnerable position on a strip of rubble and sediment". That could describe any length of the Brook as our wonderful Lib Dumb council just don't give a damn about it, just themselves and riding the gravy train. Anyway, well done to Rosie and Bluey. Lets hope that they all hatch and survive the seagulls.
God forbid. No hope for the town in the foreseeable future. Will the last person to leave Dawlish, please turn off the lights.
There must be plenty of rescue centres in this country that would like some help. After all, it will be them that will end up looking after all these imported rescue dogs when people get fed up with them.
"Two councillors with strong community roots" Is that a joke as Dawson doesn't give a monkeys about the community.
Well done to them. 👍👍👍
@ BOO HOO The parents these days are quick to pass the blame on to someone else by claiming it's 'not our fault'.
Just what we need.
This says it all for Dawson, Wrigley and the Lib Dumbs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0n_ntQcquk
I was interested in this paragraph for this report in the MDA. "Turn the Tide 2027 will tell the story of The Giant of the Brook - an ancient Devon water giant whose strength has faded as rivers, brooks and coastlines face pollution, over-extraction and climate change". No wonder his strength has faded, due to the incompetence of the useless TDC & DTC council Leaders, not forgetting the waste of ...
What a terrible picture of the 'Unicorn'.
@1263 Wasn't the same thing happening under the Tories, or have you and many other conveniently forgotton about that?
More like a Reform broadcast. Mind you, if this was on you tube, then it must be real. (joke)
It doesn't matter about all the rubble spoiling the brook then!
What? Now Dawson or Wrigley in the photo?
Well done to Stuart Gray but as for Dawson, PLEASE take a long run and jump off Teignmouth pier. You DON'T listen to what Dawlish needs but just let it run into the ground. The state of the Brook and the bridge in the Manor gardens for instance.
Such a shame. Fingers crossed the remaining 5 survive.
How wonderful. Lets hope they all survive and that the gulls don't get them.
'Idiot season' has started early.
Get them patrolling the streets instead of all this rubbish.
Would be better to see them patrolling the streets and preventing yobs riding electric scooters ebikes etc.
@BOO HOO Usually with their face in their phone so not taking any notice of anything coming down the road.
