General Discussion

Just mention the S word and off you go eh FB? So howsabout a footpath needs to be located across Shutterton Bridge irrespective of the location of that supermarket you just love to hate. Happy now?

Yes, I know, we've already got two other threads going on the bedroom tax but please bear with me for starting a third as I  want to bring this particular problem to the fore as it really does have local implications. The new national policy on housing benefit re social housing and underoccupancy (bedroom tax) expects two children of the same sex to share a bedroom until they are 16. ...

Don't think so. Not at the moment at any rate. I got caught out on that a few weeks back. Had to turn around and come back home. Hope there will be a pavement on at least on one side of the road when all this is finished not least because I remember it being argued that Sainsbury's should be located at Shutterton Bridge because its proximity to housing meant people could walk to it.

Figures released today by the Federation claim that under the Government's new bedroom tax, 30,000 people in the South West will lose an average of £584 a year in ...

Bus Fares.

Yes the buses run every 15/20 mins or so. Railcard - it's just that you could get cheaper fares.

And let's not forget that if any of 'em are social housing tenants who until now have been paying their rent themselves and in full but who will now have to claim HB, that they might now become victims of the bedroom tax. So, having just lost their job they may now lose their home. And are we all proud that we live in a society that allows such things to happen?
