@ALLEMS - not all those who would use private medical care would have contributed to the pot. what about children? and what about those who could not afford the premiums? how would they access health/hospital care? Also let's not forget that the private sector's raison d'etre is to make a profit. So........why would the private sector be interested in taking on those with chronic medical ...
Would that be NHS England, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland or NHS N.Ireland you have in mind? Only ask as I believe who is liable to pay for prescription charges and who is not varies according to which country of the UK a person lives in. So ditto in the future for using other aspects of the NHS?
Slight tangent I know but here's something that I mull around my brain every now and again which I can see is a question relevant to this thread. Which is........ what is the difference between people paying into a public service (in this case the NHS via taxation) just in case they should need medical treatment and people paying into an insurance company just in case they should need ...
Always known Langstone Rock as Red Rock.
Terrible reception. Thought it was just me again (I posted about this bad reception back in Aprilish). Got someone in to 'do' the aerial etc but problem is now back as bad as ever (in fact worse on some occasions.) Now watch what I can get as opposed to what I'd like to watch. Anyone any solutions?
@leatash - someone in my family was also on the receiving end of a similar attempted scam. thing is though she kept a thorough record of where & when the parcel was sent delivered/signed for etc and then argued her case. she won. the person on the other end kept chopping and changing their story re the 'non delivered'item which sort of made the whole thing distinctly fishy from the very start. ...

Have you noticed where the "Welcome to Teignmouth" sign is when you go to Teignmouth from Dawlish? Well, all those houses the Dawlish side of it are in Dawlish and not Teignmouth irrespective of their closeness to Teignmouth. this link ...
When the word 'town' is used just what is it people have in mind? The size of the shopping area, the overall area of the town (by which I mean urban and suburban land area combined) or the population of the town? Dawlish population - circa 13,800 T'mouth population - circa 14,500
Would have put this on the thread below started by ramt65 but can't for some reason. (Webmaster?) Anyhow, just wanted to say that having looked at the contact details left on this site and on EoD I cannot find any phone number or e-mail address for this new service. Just thought I'd point that out.
Just thought I'd bump this thread up as I went along to the car boot sale today (same site as the open market). Not very many stalls but it may take some time for word to get around. I notice now that there is a big sign at the entrance of the field which is easily visible from Mount Pleasant Road giving details of this car boot sale. If you or anyone you know are thinking of going don't get ...
