New Youth Centre
27 Jul 2010

1 The new centre is being equipped and got ready for September use. 2 The centre will be 'opened' officially on September 10th 3 The building will be open to the Public on September 11th, Saturday, when you can satisfy your curiosity, use your imagination and suggest how you'd like to see it contribute to life in Dawlish. I think eyes will boggle and faces outside the town will turn green with ...

Harrison's Revamp

But it's not going to vanish. It's going to get BIGGER and that terrrible orange fascia isn't going. Do look at the plans and see that they want to build a permanent enclosure right out to the edge of pavement.

No. You have it wrong on the High Street. It was a pitted and badly repaired channel that traffic drove down far too fast for the people trying to walk along pavements barely as wide as your shoulders. Now the services have been renewed to keep things going for another 50 years, the kerbs have been moved to allow reasonable pavement widths, and crossing points for the increasing number of those ...

Some of us have asked to be involved in drawing up the brief for a 'feasibility study' which the Town Council wants to run on whether to keep the Manor House. We think it ought to start with the (hardly ever publicised) Parish Strategy which intended to build 'New Municipal Offices' (wot! like Exeter ...

And now you won't have to, unless they are successful with their appeal to be heard in May by a Planning Inspector. Here's where we all have a part to play, to object to the grounds for their appeal and to reinforce the argument that only one store is justified for Dawlish at this size (by the way, the figures quoted for floor space in other mailings are on two different bases, one for nett sales ...

The Committee had been heavily lobbied by people in Dawlish and they voted against the Officers' recommendation which, to be consistent, was the same as last time - to refuse Sainsbury's. But once again common sense prevailed over the two sites. The Lady's Mile site is a very attractive camping ground and too valuable for tourism to ruin with car parks and smelly manoeuvring vehicles. The ...
