I am probably wrong but I thought the revised plans show steps going into the Lawn area from The Strand crossing points?
I have noticed that JTT are the contractors for that one and also the Strand works. Have used them on a couple of minor projects and have found them a great firm to have working for you. And, Yes, that can be construed as a recommendation.lol
@Carer " Sorry, but I find it amazing that people are too lazy to walk to the shops and worry about where they are going to park their car in the Strand. It only takes a couple of minutes to walk from Barton car park to the Strand, so why the fuss? No wonder people are getting fat." I consider myself 'disabled' at times but can't get a badge because it only affects me ...
Define 'disabled'. I would argue that those living alone and in fear of venturing outside of their homes (perhaps irrationally but nevertheless real to them) are 'disabled'. That will bring a lot more people into the frame of 'disadvantaged' by these policies.
Our immigration policy has nothing to do with this Govt. or the last! It was signed up to in previous EU agreements dating back to Heath, Thatcher and beyond/since. It was 'hidden' in economic, Common Market policies that allowed for 'open borders' ostensibly for trade. I'm no Tory and even less a pure 'socialist' but there's no value in blaming this lot! For all his faults Cameron ...
Just bought a DVD from Sainsbury's because there were huge ads outside saying it was £7*! (James Bond, Skyfall). Now, the ' * ' is the critical bit! In small print it says that you have to spend £30+ and then you can have it for £7! Well I spent £30+ but what they didn't say (and I didn't realise until after I'd got home and given it to my son) was that the £30 spend cannot include ...
It's a completely outdated term. When it had (limited!) credibility the First World was the western powers, Second World was the Soviet bloc and Third world the rest. The West Germans (First World power) had to absorb the East Germans (Second World Power) and still have problems relating to infrastructure to do this. Of course they're pro-EU because they wouldn't have had a hope in ...
I've never liked this scheme and the HA I worked for did not join it (which upset a lot of officials to my own knowledge!). Accommodation should be awarded based on need at the moment the property becomes available (which should be assessed then) and priority points should be awarded to local people rather than those who can merely maintain their lifestyle AND move to the seaside because of ...
Are there 10 sluice gates? Will it really cost £1000 for each? Do we need to get some more quotes????
Chef, She was my mother's aunt (Auntie Katie) who was an incredible woman by all accounts. She introduced the pilot scheme in South Wales due to the chronic malnutrition (and indeed Ricketts - hope that's spelled right) of children from poorer families there. It was then rolled out across the country. I'm not sure of the surname (could be Thomas) but will try to find out. My ...
