I see in todays Gazette, that Dawlish has got £10k for new sluice gates on the Brook to help combat flooding.
While they installing them, wouldn't it be a good idea if they were to dredge the Brook from the Manor Gardens down to the beach so clearing it of all the silt and other rubbish that has gathered over the years?
It would also make the swans happier along with possibly attracting other water fowl by making it that much deeper.
Or is that hoping for too much?
I think that will happen, I remember reading that the sluice gates need to be done before any dredging work takes place, this makes sense to me, sort out the problems of waterflow first. DCC are founding this but the Environment Agency have to sort out the rest along with TDC
