Are we rapidly being turned into a Third World Country?

India used to be classed as a Third World Country I believe and look how manyof the wealthiest individuals in the World are Indian. No doubt Cameron is out there to find out the secret, however we are now following their economic model already. Treat the lower classes (casts) just as slaves to the rich, poor housing, pitiful wages, women second class citizens and corruption rife in their political and business institutions! Cameron has given their students an open door to come to Britain to study, stay and enrich our society......"you are all welcome there is no limit" he stated.

Perhaps shortly India will fund this country with billions in aid as we have done?

Dream on !!!!

Could someone please answer this. If our country with help from others won a war against the Germans. How do they today seem to have a better lifestyle, better ecconomy, and the freedom and ability to tell us what to do. Surely everything German now belongs to us and the Americans, and should be governed by us, otherwise what was the point. Sorry but not old enough to know all the facts.

It's a completely outdated term.

When it had (limited!) credibility the First World was the western powers, Second World was the Soviet bloc and Third world the rest. The West Germans (First World power) had to absorb the East Germans (Second World Power) and still have problems relating to infrastructure to do this.

Of course they're pro-EU because they wouldn't have had a hope in hell of doing so without EU (including UK (i.e. GB & NI)) financial assistance! Bear in mind that in the '80s they were giving Turks grants to get out of W. Germany and return home!

EU immigration policy cannot possibly work - which is why each country that immigrants arrive in passes them through until the majority reach the UK.

The ultimate EU aim is to have full social integration throughout member countries. This rests on the integration of Economic processes without the population of those member countries realising that total Social integration will result (not my opinion but a quote from a Common Market pioneer whose name I've forgotten). EU members know that this will mean introducing a parity of social security arrangements across the EU but also know that they will never be able to introduce a system equivalent to ours without civil revolt due to massively increased taxes in their own countries.

Alternative: Destroy our social security system by overloading it with legitimate EU immigrants/migrants (depending on your point of view - literally) thus instead of bringing their systems up to the level of ours; we must reduce ours to the level of theirs.

Comments welcome!

I've read that the 'Great' bit has nothing to do with politics or empire but that it is all to do with physical geography and the names given to this part of the world many, many, centuries ago . Brittany being 'little' Britain, whilst the big island off the coast of mainland Europe (ie us) was known as 'great' ( or bigger) Britain.

EU Immigrants come to the UK because we have Social Security and free NHS. I woild not give that until at least 10 years working here. Also they should learn and speak English ..was shopping the other day and two shelf fillers from Poland I think..chatting away!

On here everyone seems to moan about the UK but not that many seem in a hurry to move abroad.

Maybe that most british people don't have the resources to move abroad. However most EU people have financial aid to move here.  But don't delude yourself they all get benefits in one form or another.

If its cheaper and better to be anywhere other than the UK, would they not find themselves better off in the long run.  Re resources ..everyone seems to have expensive 'must have' mobile contracts (even children!) and all the latest high tech.

Thirty years ago a discussion such as this would probably not occured, it is only the social engineering by most recently Cameron & Clegg and p[reviously Labour who opened our doors to all and sundry hoping they will be in government for ever as migrants would be forever grateful. The middle aged population is the most frustrated as they have witnessed what has gone on without being consulted as adult voters. Our children and grandchildren have been indoctrinated during their education and do not realise what the full implication of multicultrilism and mass immigration creates. If we speak out or dissagree we are bigots and racists, change is always difficult in all areas when we are confronted with it! however being forced into change will produce opposition. The vast majority of people are prepared to adjust over time however with the massive influx of EU migants and the effect that has on employment, housing, hospitals, schools, policing etc & the cuts that are now being implemented makes one feel like our country is becoming a 3rd World nation.

Our prime minister is more interested in gay marriage than addressing these issues and will perhaps give us a referendum if elected the next time around on the issues of Europe. An unlimited supply of a work force at minimum costs will be always their main objective as the lobbyist grease their messy palms to continue the policy of overcrowding our island.

Will be interesting when Labour win the next election (which I guess they will) if they will allow even more into the UK...that, and I am sure they will give everyone whatever they ask, no more cuts...hope they are applying now for some new credit cards lol.

Cant see the major parties getting an outright majority at the next elections. I think people are wising upto them now.  If UKIP can fund a good and convincing campaign it could be a Con/Ukip alliance. Iam pretty sure the Conservatives will be clever enought to blame the Lib Dems for everything the people dislike and that could finish off the Lib Dem party as we know it.

What should and probably will worry a lot of people is the growing support up North for the BNP. They have the some ideas that need to be listened to, but I dont know how they would implement their policies if they got any power to do so.

Just to add. Yesterdays unemployment fiqures must relate to the number of people claiming jobseekers benifit and not the number of people out of work who are turned away from the job centre. What is obvious is that they are rigged and not true.

Our immigration policy has nothing to do with this Govt. or the last! It was signed up to in previous EU agreements dating back to Heath, Thatcher and beyond/since. It was 'hidden' in economic, Common Market policies that allowed for 'open borders' ostensibly for trade.

I'm no Tory and even less a pure 'socialist' but there's no value in blaming this lot!

For all his faults Cameron realises the economic disaster awaiting this country when access is allowed (through these treaties) to millions (yes, really, millions) of Romanians and Bulgarians later this year. That is why he is trying to 'renegotiate our relationship with the EU'.

I'm behind the current govt. on this one .... and if you're not you are deluding yourselves!
