I understand that the stupid people of Dawlish like their money to be spent wisely. CCTV is a very wise investment. It reduces the fear of crime, it prevents and detects crime and the cameras can't see in the dark, now that's value for money.
cynical wrote,"have you looked how much the rent is for a 3 bed house in Dawlish about £600 a month," Gotta be joking, I know of a one bed flat at £560 per month and a 3 bed house at £825. Go to the council offices at the Manor and see for your self.
Why do we need affordable homes? Who will pay for those affordable homes? Will it be those that can't afford a home??????? Or will it be those that pay their taxes in many disguises???? Who will occupy affordable homes? It is suggested that there is a demand in Dawlish for affordable homes, where are those people living now? So local boy has lived in Dawlish all his life! I guess he has seen many changes or not? Where did he play and where did the rest of his generation and family play? Was it on the streets or was it on the playing fields at Sandy Lane? An open space many are trying to protect. There are many that say they want Tesco in Dawlish at any price, have those same people thought about the consequences? ...
Gordon Brown told Jack Straw he had bought a teddy bear for £10 and he called it Mohamed. The next day Gordon told Jack that he sold it on to Tony Blaire for £20. Jack said, "That was a good Prophet!"
