As you all know the previous council spent £80,000 + for cameras that cannot see at night. On Feb 5th I watched a guy key my car in the Strand outside Crissies Flower Shop, called the police and gave an interview the following day, they also interviewed the man, who obviously denied it. But wait a minute we have CCTV Gotcha. Advised today by the Police the camera was not being operated and was pointing at the Co-op, so they do not pan automatically and record. Value for money I think NOT
I understand that the stupid people of Dawlish like their money to be spent wisely. CCTV is a very wise investment. It reduces the fear of crime, it prevents and detects crime and the cameras can't see in the dark, now that's value for money.
