All best wishes and hopes to NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover today. This SUV-sized rover – the largest NASA has ever attempted to place on Mars – is due to attempt its daring landing on the Red Planet at 10:31 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 5 (5:31 UTC on August 6, 2012).

On one of the far flung Scottish islands (can't remember which one) Gannets are the local delicacy - I think they are equally difficult to prepare and also involve some risk to life and limb in catching them.

That got me thinking. How come a humble Greek baker managed to win the Olympic race against all those naked, honed greek athletes? And why wasn't the event recorded in the annals? So I have an idea of how he won and this is how Homer might have written it as an epic poem .....
