diving birds?

I see a new seabird has turned up on the coastline. They fly around and hen suddenly drop out of he sky into the sea to catch fish. Fascinating to see. Anyone know what they are?

If they're white and sleek they are probably terns - right time of year for them

Hey Chef I reckon you and Neilh are thinking the same thing, how easy they are to pluck and what sauce would go best.

@neilh & @Carer - thanks for that. awesome to sit, watch and marvel at. 

@Andysport - apparently not recommended for eating. though in nz we had "muttonbirds" - also a seabird, related to a cormorant. quite a palaver to prepare ..... mind you, you might have seen my recipes online for them?

On one of the far flung Scottish islands (can't remember which one) Gannets are the local delicacy - I think they are equally difficult to prepare and also involve some risk to life and limb in catching them.
