I will be switching off posting on dawlish.com this afternoon at around 1pm so that I can move the site to a new server with a new IP address and update it to the latest version. It should only take a few minutes, but we will all see the old site for a while until the DNS change propagates through. Thanks.

@stephen15 , i've emailed it to you. I will be adding private messaging to this site at some point!
OK, thanks. I'll see if I can find out what causes this.
Hi @Stephen, could you let me know how often this happens, and also what version of IE are you using (go to menu>help/about, etc.)? I occassionally see this problem on sites I visit but I have not seen it on here, but thanks for reporting it. This site now uses javascript quite heavily, so it is important for me to cater for all browsers & platforms.
I included the news in with the discussion early on as I wanted people to be able to comment on news. I probably should have included articles and events also so people can comment on these, but I can do this in the next version.
@cheftallyrand , there has been no intentional change and the latest topic commented on should get promoted to the top, so it could be a gremlin. Do you have an example?
Happy new year to everyone!
Yes, many thanks chef for all your efforts this year and to everyone else that has contributed and visited the site. If anyone can think of a better way of chef reaching a wider audience but keeping the content on dawlish.com then this would be my preferred solution. Also anyone else who has any ideas for dawlish.com next year, please post them here. I normally give out statistics for ...
Thanks for the info @wriggler . BT have just revamped their mail servers which may have something to do with it. It also seems with new Gmail accounts, emails originating from dawlish.com automatically go to spam. So I guess people need to look in their spam folder.
