About half an hour ago, I posted a long private message on which I had worked for about an hour and a half.

The system hung up has not been posted. Please would it be possible to check whether it reached dawlish.com and could be resurrected? Slim chance, but I did not have the opportunity to save as I went along.

Hi Don,

Sorry, but if it is not in your outbox it didn't reach Dawlish.com.

You are right though in pointing out it would be good to be able to save a message before sending it so I will look into doing this before the next release.

Thanks for checking. I knew it would be hopeless. Now recommend frequent use of Copy while composing, allowing a Paste to rescue.

Delighted that pm being used constructively. I was worried that it might lead to private abuse between some posters. Well done.

Hi Don.  I've had similar problems in past, not with dawlish.com but other sites.  So what I tend to do now if I'm writing a long message is to do it in Word or similar and then cur & paste when I've finished, or even cut & paste.

Neil,

Thanks.  It was the usual Topsy problem where I did not set out for it to be long and I became completely absorbed in thought and action - searching out links, reading, pasting them into the message, etc. (completely missing the rugby I had intended to watch.)
